Embrace Happiness

Oh my gosh! Get a load of this funny story.....it's not a lie, I kid you not!

I cased the layout for this card from the most recent issue of Stamp It! magazine (remember, my mojo is in the tank and I need all the help I can get???). In order to give credit where credit is due, I opened up the magazine this morning to get the name of the person who created the card so I could type it into my post for today, and guess what I found out? The person who made the card I cased is none other than Lisa Johnson, AGAIN! Ack! I really didn't know that when I cased it...I just liked the layout. So, for two days in a row now, I've cased a Lisa Johnson card! I think that is hysterical! See, I really am inspired by Lisa Johnson. I suppose it doesn't help that her work is everywhere you look, she's so stinkin' good, LOL! She was cool about the case yesterday (I emailed her to get her permission to link to her card), so I imagine she'll be cool about it again today too!

Anyways, so that's the story about today's card. I really love the three dimensional look of the pink butterfly. It is a stamp from Hero Arts (old), that I stamped onto a scrap piece of pink designer paper, and then outlined with my Stardust Gel Pen. I cut the butterfly out and then mounted him on top of the butterfly image (again) that I had stamped on white cardstock, and then colored with my Copics. I bent the wings up to give it that 3-dimensional look.

Well, I think I'm going to get a few cards made this morning before I run out on some errands. Then it's off to work for the rest of the afternoon. We've got no big plans for the weekend, except getting the boys ready for their big church choir trip to St. Petersburg, FL next week. Any of you live near St. Petersburg? They are singing at a church called Lutheran Church of the Cross. If you are close, please go and worship with them and listen to them sing! You will be blessed, I assure you!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Love the card. The butterfly is beautiful. Learned something to try: outlining with the gel pens before cutting out. Thanks for that inspiration.

  3. So cute. I am inspired by Lisa Johnson as well. I think she is great. I have to check out her blog everyday just to see what she did.
This is a great card. I love all the colors and the butter flies. Butterfly stamps just scream to be in 3D. TFS!!!
