Butterflies and Margaritas

I wish I could say that the reason I haven't blogged yet this week is because I just decided to stay at the retreat I was on last weekend instead of come home. But, alas, that would not be true. I would have LOVED to stay, it was fabulous, but bummer for me it was only 3 days!

I just haven't gotten around to posting because it's been so busy for me this week. Doug's been out of town at the NCAA basketball tournament since Tuesday, which leaves all of the childrearing to me (ie; schlepping children to and fro'), besides working all the time. So, after I schlepped the cherubs to school this morning, I came downstairs and decided I'd check in with ya all to see what's happening in the blogging world. No, I'm not dead. A few of you left me a comment asking of my whereabouts....I'm happy to tell you everything is ok, it's just a tish busy these days.

I wanted to show you a card I made recently that was directly cased from Dawn McVey a few weeks ago. I absolutely loved her card and had to make one for myself. Here is her card....and here is mine.....
Isn't it fun? I love all the bright colors, not to mention it's a great way to use up those pesky, beautiful scraps!
One day last week, I needed a card for my boss who was going through some rough days. I looked through my stash of cards to see if there was one appropriate for her. There wasn't. But then I got to thinking I could adapt this butterfly card to one more suitable for her, so I made this one....

Ha! I chose to do the card with margarita glasses because my boss was joking at work one day about going home and have some margaritas due to all the problems she was having. I thought it was perfect and I love how it turned out. The inside, (which I tried to take pictures of but they turned out blurry), said "when life gives you limes, make margaritas!", which summed it all up perfectly! So fun. Hope you like it too. Thanks to Dawn for the inspiration!

Well, I've got to run. I've got a dr. appt this morning that I've got to get ready for, then it's off to work, then it's off to hang with my girlfriend tonight to stamp. Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Amy

  1. Hey! Great to hear from you again....See, proof that when you don't blog you are sorely missed. ::wink::
Love both of these cards, Amy.
I don't really see your card in Dawn's card. I think her card is nice, but yours looks totally different and so bright and cheery. Can you explain a CASE for me? I am thinking it is one thing and maybe it is something else.
