K.I.S.S (Keepin' It Soooo Simple) Saturdays

This card fits the mantra of the day to a "t"...."keepin' it soooooo simple"! Seriously, could it get any simpler? There are actually only 4 pieces of paper on the front of the card! And that's only because I stamped the scalloped square image twice in two different colors and cut the sentiment out from one color and glued it on the other color. If you wanted, you could take this card up another notch to make it a little more complicated with additional layers, but since I like to mass produce my cards for sale, I'm keeping this one as it is.

The beautiful designer paper is a scrap I had of some Webster's Pages paper. The pink scallop strip is Pretty in Pink cardstock. The card base is Kraft cardstock.

Remember, cards don't always have to be complicated and layered. Take some time once in a while to strive for simple and clean. It's a refreshing change of pace!

It's been a while since I've given you an update on something that's been going on in my life (my job search). It's not because I've forgotten, it's because I've been trying to avoid it because it's wasn't very good news and I wanted to spare you the ugly details...but here goes....

I found out Tuesday that I did not get ANY of the four positions I was being considered for at the hospital. This whole deal has stretched on for what seems like months. Needless to say, when I found out, I sobbed for the whole day, I swear. I really thought it was going to work out this time. But for some reason, God closed the doors...again. I was soooo angry with God that when it came time to head for my bible study class the following morning, I told God that if he wanted me there, he'd have to drag me kicking and screaming because I was NOT going to go of my own volition. He got me there, but let me tell you, I was kicking and screaming the entire way. I refused to get on my knees for while because as far as I was concerned at that point in time, He had not heard a single solitary one of my prayers, so why bother? It took a few days, but by Thursday, I was feeling better about things and had repented to God for my stubborn behavior. In the end, I decided to throw myself at His feet and trust in His sovereign plan for me, even though it confuses me and frustrates me at best. It was just another in a series of roller coaster emotions in my faith journey. I must remind myself daily to choose joy and trust.

It's just Youngest Son and I for the weekend. The Hubster is in Harrisburg, PA working at the Penn State/Illinois football game. Here's a shot of him last weekend at the Auburn/LSU football game...

Eldest Son is at church camp for the weekend. So today, our plan is to do NOTHING! I'm stamping, Youngest Son is playing his new PS3 Madden '09 game all day! I can't wait. In fact, I'm going to sign off and get on with things.

Have a wonderful weekend. See you early next week!

Hugs,
Amy

Our journey with the Lord is truly a gift that we will never understand. It's those downs that we seem to feel like he is neglecting us and he isn't. We will never have the answers until we come back to him. God is our only sonstant in our life no matter how difficult it may seem to us here on earth. Stay strong. I enjoy your blog, cards daily. Be encouraged that He will never leave you. Sandy from MD

  7. What a frustrating week you've had! I'm so sorry the job didn't work out, but God only wants the best for you & obviously that wasn't it! He truly has taken care of you for a good while now & I'm certain He'll continue to do so. But... just like rebellious children, we get angry if things don't go our way. Glad you decided to do things His way - lots more blessings there!!! Hope your day is filled with sweet reminders of His love for you.

  9. Amy, just remember God closes doors when he's preparing something BETTER for you. I don't comment nearly enough, but I try to follow along through your blog. I know it's been a tough road, but you always come back to a place of surrender. Someday in the future, you'll be writing a "looking back" post, where you'll be able to share with us just how these trials were all purposed together to bring you greater blessings in the end, and I for one can't wait to read it!! You just don't have that retrospective viewpoint yet because you're still in the middle of it! Hang in there, and stay strong in your faith! I'm praying for you!!
