It's A Happy Day

I'm getting desperate here, I'm running out of cards to show you....I need my camera back!

Again, this card dates back a few months to March on my girls weekend away. This card was actually created on a challenge issued between me and my friend Lue. I'm not sure, but I think I got to pick out the colors and stamp set I wanted her to use, and she got to pick out the colors and stamp set she wanted me to use. It's been so long the details are a little fuzzy now.

Anyways, this is the card I came up with. It's a non-traditional size, I don't make many tall cards. And I don't often use these colors together, although I was mildly pleased with the outcome. I can't find the picture of Lue's card, but I'll keep looking and if I find it, I'll get it posted here, ok?

I've got some good news for you. I have an interview today at the hospital for the HUC job!!!!! Woo-hoo! My interview is at 10am. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers during this time. I am SOOOOOOO excited to finally have a chance to interview there. My girlfriend Sharon who works at the hospital has been stalking the poor woman who is hiring for the ER (she knows her very well) position telling her to hire me! I think she finally agreed to meet with me to get Sharon off her back:)!!! All I need is a chance. I know I don't have MEDICAL experience, but what I do have is even more valuable; positive attitude, hard worker, loyal, dependable, trustworthy, easy to work with, etc, etc., etc. These days, these sorts of qualities are the hard ones to find all in one package! You can teach the on-the-job skills, but the qualities I bring to the table are typically the ones you either have or you don't have. I hope I can impress her with what I do have! Prayer warriors, bring on the prayers!!!

Today is also my 45th birthday! I honestly cannot believe I'm that old! I got my present yesterday, a new crockpot. Very practical. The cover of my old one broke so hubby thought I needed a new one. I use it all the time.

My neighbor Ann also came over with a BEAUTIFUL hanging flower basket filled with purple petunias. It's absolutely gorgeous. Another neighbor gave me a gift card for another hanging basket. I was overwhelmed with their kindness. The bad news is I have such a hard time being on the receiving end of gifts, especially such meaningful, touching gifts such as these. Ann knew I wasn't buying any flowers for our deck this year, and she couldn't stand the thought. That my other neighbor Lori also sent a gift card as well is especially touching to me too. They all know the spot we're in. They are reaching out and showing loving kindness to a friend in need, and I get uncomfortable with that. I guess I don't feel worthy. Isn't that sad? I need to work on that. Like I've said before, I'm usually on the GIVING end, not the receiving end. It's a tough spot to be in, let me tell you, but I thank God he has put all these wonderful people in my life for me to learn from. They have really cheered me up in these difficult times. And all these flowers, they bring SUCH a smile to my face, I can't tell you! Once I get my camera back, I'll take some pictures and share them with you. I wouldn't have ANY flowers on my deck this spring if it weren't for the kindness of all these special angels (you know who you are!!!). Every single flower on my deck is from some special angel God has directed into my life, can you BELIEVE that? Is He not GOOD? And faithful? YESS!!!!!

I'll be in touch to let you know how the interview went!

Hugs,
Amy

  2. Good luck to you and I will be so anxious to hear how the interview went. They would be "nuts" to not hire you, Amy. Take some photos of your pretty flowers and share them with us, ok? I will be waiting to hear from you.

  9. The people that hired me for that job I had to give up when we found out we were moving told me the same thing. There are some things that you can't teach. I'm praying that they will see all that God wants them to see in you. Just looked at the clock and you are probably on your way or already at the interview. I'll be praying for the next couple of hours.

    HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  10. Amy, It is not sad that you don't feel worthy of receiving, it is in fact a feeling most of us have. I think our adversary uses our negative feelings to over rule the WONDERFUL promises of God. So this morning, and all mornings, go with Who you know and not what you feel. May your best, better yet HIS Best shine on your interview.
His mercies are new every morning! :)
