Same Paper, Different Color (Finally)

How about a little lime green and red to start your day off today????

I decided to get the Merci set only because I qualified for it, not because I liked it all that much! But, I must say, after using it to make this card, the set sort of grew on me. I'm not gonna say it's a favorite, but it will do for a card or two!

I managed to tie in some fun red and white gigham to make the red stand out even more, and I added a little bit of my own doodling too! Usually my doodling looks silly, but this time, I think it looks OK!

Well, I don't know about you, but I sure am glad Friday is here! It's funny, I don't even "work" full-time outside the home but I still look to Friday as the day to reach before I can allow myself to collapse with fatigue! I don't know how you full-timers do it. I used to, and when I did, I ran myself ragged with the craziness of life.......

We have had a severe winter storm warning brewing for a few days now. It rained/sleeted for much of the day yesterday. The blistery wind was unbelievable! It blew my hubby's grill across the deck. When I woke up this morning, I was expecting to see a boatload of snow, but PRAISE GOD, there is just a dusting. I won't get too excited though, the BIG snow is actually expected to arrive this afternoon. April 11th. Ugh. Enough is enough is enough is enough. I know many of you reading this are experiencing the same sort of weather and can commiserate with what I'm feeling. But then there are those of you who are planting your summer flowers already or worse yet running through the sprinklers with the kids. You have no idea how LUCKY you are people!!!!! And please, send your fabulous weather our way OK? Stop hoggin' it all. Share some with us now, OK?????? We sure could use it.

We don't have much on the agenda for the weekend. We DO have a sexuality seminar at church tomorrow with my youngest son, much to his chagrin. He thinks he knows all about it already and would rather have his teeth extracted than sit there with his MOM & DAD learning about S-E-X. He told me this morning it makes him uncomfortable. I told him there was nothing to be uncomfortable about. I told him the seminar would focus on the spiritual side of s-e-x (and it's place in marriage only), not the mechanics of it. That seemed to ease him up a bit! LOL.

Well, I think I'm going to sign off for now. If you are looking for something fun to do this weekend, Verve Visual has an inspiration challenge goin' on right now! Here's your inspiration piece.....

Make a card or project using the pillow photo as inspiration, and link it to this post (on the Verve blog) by Midnight (Mountain time) on April 22nd for a chance to win. If you have any Verve Visual stamps, please use them, but it's not a requirement. The winner will receive $15 in Verve Bucks to spend at the Verve store. Fun, right?

Go for it girls! I will be posting my take on the inspiration piece next Monday. but you can stop by the blog all weekend to see what the rest of the design came up with based on the inspiration piece!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hugs,
Amy

  6. Amy thank you for using this set. I have it too, but it hasn't been inked. I love the colors and how you used it. It is very quaint now that I have seen you use it in this sweet card.
