Did you know that you are "you-nique"?
On the day you were born, God sent you to earth "pre-packaged". He thought long and hard about who exactly he wanted you to be and then gave you a specific set of tools with which to do the job he single-handedly chose for you to do in your time here on earth. No one else got quite the same special tools that he packed into your suitcase! That's what makes YOU "you-nique"! Isn't that amazing?????
I am learning this in the new book I'm reading by Max Lucado called Cure For The Common Life--Living Your Sweet Spot. I want to share bits of this book with you on Tuesdays, which are now more commonly know as Triumph Tuesdays here at Heartfelt Greetings. I think we all need to grab on to the hope that can be found in realizing our true purpose here on earth. For each of us it will be different. And that's exactly the way God intended it to be.
Mr. Lucado says God packed us on purpose for a purpose. If you're anything like me, you're on a never ending search to figure out exactly what that purpose may be! I don't want to go through life searching and searching never realizing my true calling! I think that's why this book appealed to me--it's time, I think, to figure out what I am supposed to do with the gift God blessed me with so long ago. And before you go thinking you don't have any special talents and gifts, think again! YOU DO! Of course, you all have creative talent, or you probably wouldn't be reading my blog. But there are other talents that you have that you might not be aware of or acknowlege. Remember, God gave each and every one of a special gift for which we can bring him glory! He WANTS us to use this gift--whatever it may be. Whether it's an eye for organization, or a knack for numbers, this was a gift you were born with and are responsible for using while you are living and breathing here on earth! Don't compare your gift with others--your gifts is"you-nique" to YOU and you only.
I encourage each and every one of you to sit down today and make a list of the gifts and talents God pre-packaged you with at birth. It might be hard at first to come up with something, but if you keep struggling, ask a special friend what special talents and gifts she sees in you. Sometimes others see our talents long before we do because we are inherently hard on ourselves (can you tell I'm speaking from experience here????). I plan on sharing my list with you next Tuesday, ok? It's going to be as hard for me as it is for you. But we owe it to God to do it. He did not give us these gifts so we could sit on them and ignore our responsiblity to them. In the words of Max Lucado.....when you do the most what you do the best, you put a smile on God's face!
Hugs,
Amy
p.s. This is a card I made last night using Verve's new Thankful Blossoms set that was released this past Saturday! Isn't it wonderful? These blossoms were actually what I used to practice using my Copics for the first time! Each of them was different. I did not have this card in mind when I colored them. I was just coloring and then decided I'd use them all together after the fact! I've still got a long way to go to learn how to shade and highlight properly, but these babies sure are fun! Hope you like the card!

Sounds like we all have some thinking to do hey??? I am currently studying Beth Moore's Stepping Up a journey through the Psalms of Ascent and boy of boy I have already started to apply my gifts. About two years ago, out of the blue, when I was looking for non existent work, God shared Holly. Holly is a Christian, a homeschool mum of 4 and one of the most wonderful people I have ever met in my life. She saw my gift of teaching and told me to apply to an online Christian school. This job is the most incredible job (other than being a mum and wife) that I have ever been blessed with.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I look forward t hearing what you have to share with us.
Great card today too!

ReplyDeleteHi Amy,
ReplyDeleteYou can never, not in a million years, know how badly I needed to hear today that "God packed me on purpose for a purpose". Thank you so much for sharing and encouraging! Blessing to you!
This is really great. Of course it helps that red is my favorite color but i think i'd love this card anyway. The colors are superb! I believe that everyone has a purpose, thank you for encouraging me and the other bunch of bloggers to rise to the occassion of spiritual growth.
