This was the very FIRST image I colored with my new Copics last weekend. Knowing I was going to buy a few at the Hobby Lobby in Rochester, MN, I brought along some pre-stamped images to practice coloring.
Yes, I know, my coloring needs lots of help! But I sure am having fun playing! I thought this sunflower was a perfect fit with this designer paper from My Minds Eye. It just screams "SUMMER"!
The surprise on this card is that the sunflower image is on mounted on a "mini-card" that opens up to reveal a sentiment inside! The orange horizontal strip is glued to the inside of the card and holds the mini-card to the front. I did it this way in an effort to be different for a change! All my cards are so boring and this was something that added a little "spice".
The sentiment on the front is by A Muse, and the sentiment on the inside is from Verve Visual's Starlight Starbright set. The inside sentiment says "Wishing You a Day Filled with Possiblity".
I have my BSF bible study today, so I'm off and running. I used blogger draft to type this up Tuesday night with the hopes that it posts Wednesday at 6am. I tried to do this Tuesday as well but it didn't work....bummer. Anyone else try to schedule a post yet using Blogger?
Have a great day!!
Hugs,
Amy
Hi Amy,
ReplyDeleteI have tried this also but was not successful. It appears it worked today. If you figure out how to do it I would love to know how also so I can create my posts early.

Awesome colouring with the Copics! I also recently bought a few Copics, but didn't get enough of one colour to do some nice shading. What colours did you start with? Love your card!
ReplyDeleteLove it....the colors you chose, your coloring....beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteYou actually bought Copics at Hobby Lobby? I hope we get them at the store here.
Have a wonderful day.
may I say for the record.......your cards are from boring!
ReplyDeleteI love this card! The colors, the clever layout, the positioning of the sentiment- all fabulous! One thing that I have learned using Copics- I'm far more critical of my coloring techniques than my observers and it does take practice, practice, practice!
ReplyDeletei think this is wonderful, so sunny and warm feeling, amy! sara told me about the postdated posting--skeeered to try it!! now even more skeeered!!! just checkin in on you...doin' ok?
