Valentine's Inspiration #6/Catching Up

Hi! Oh my, it seems like such a long time since I last checked in. I've been busy, busy, busy. The most exciting thing to happen since I last wrote is that E came home from Pasadena! Woo-hoo! I missed him, even though he's a growing young man, it's still not the same around here without him. Unfortunately, the buses returned to Mpls about 130am Friday morning, yikes. My hubby was the poor soul who had to leave our warm, cozy bed to go get him....God, I love him! E was home and in bed by 2am. Needless to say, I let him stay home from school Friday, which made him a happy boy!

Yesterday was a big shopping day around here. First of all, I bought a chair and ottoman for my living room. We've been in need of a new one for a long time. I am in heaven when I sit in it, it's so comfy. And, my little guy can fit in it with me, so lots of room to snuggle with him! Even my hubby and I fit in it together! After we bought that, we went to Best Buy and bought a new camera for me and a new DVD player for him. I worked so hard in December that I wanted to treat us to some fun stuff, and I got a really nice paycheck from my December work, so we splurged. We never do stuff like this, but it seems like this season we have, for some reason. I am very happy to say though, that none of it is bought on credit. Strictly cash only. Yeah! The DVD player is actually a DVD/VCR player, and the main reason we got it was to transfer our home videos (on VCR) to a DVD, so we can have them for a long time to come. At this point, we couldn't view them anymore because VCR's are basically extinct. As far as the camera goes, I have always wanted a digital SLR, and I finally got one!!! I bought the brand new Nikon D40, which is a new SLR designed for people (amatuers) wanting to make the step from their point and shoot digital cameras to a SLR (Single Lens Reflex), which is more like a 35M film camera. Can I just say, it's an AMAZING camera? Oh my word, it takes beautiful pics! I can't wait to start playing with it. My son and I have been playing photographer man since yesterday when we brought it home. We have been taking pics of everything we possibly can, most notably, the dog. He must be thinking we're crazy people! I posted one here so you can see Copper for yourself, isn't he adorable?

Ok, I have to get on with it, don't I? You guys don't care about all this other stuff. I bet you want to see my latest Valentine's card, don't you? Well, here it is.
I needed to come up with some more VD cards for a class I'm teaching, but I had to make them using the more traditional colors/papers than what I've been using for the others. These cards have been a little more difficult for me to make, seeing as this sort of paper doesn't look so hot distressed:)!!! For this card, I used my CB for the background, and cut out all different size hearts in various papers, and then attached them to a piece of black cardstock. I added some red cording, and that was it. The only stamping was the word "cherish" at the bottom of the card. This card is ok, like I said, not really my style. But I think the people in class will like it (at least I hope so).

I've been having fun making some cool cards the last few days. Tomorrow I'll share some of those with you. Enough VD for a little while. It's time to go stamp now, have a great day!
