Ahhh, love. There's nothing sweeter. That's why making Valentine's cards is so much fun! I have been invited to teach two card classes at a LSS in January, so I need to come up with some ideas, pronto!
So, for one week straight, I am going to share with you, my stampin buddies, one Valentine's card each day--hopefully this will get YOU inspired to make your own too! I know it's hard for me to come up with a zillion original ideas all the time, sometimes we just need a simple little idea thrown our way to get us rockin'and rollin'! Hopefully I can inspire you!
This card is loosly based on one I saw recently on the BasicGrey website. The cards are part of their new Blush Card Kit, a kit that allows you to make seven awesome VD cards using their amazing Blush series of papers!
For this card, I dug into my little scrap box and used only scrap pieces of paper to make the whole card--how much better can it get? I mean, for heavens sake, my scrap box is OVERFLOWING with small pieces of beautiful paper that are screaming to be shown some love!!!! The letters are cut using the Olivia alphabet from CB. No stamping, just paper piecing. I distressed the Very Vanilla paper which I glued the scrap squares on, and distressed the edges of the scrap squares as well. So, I guess I did use a LITTLE ink on this card:)....before I attached the L-O-V-E square to the front of the card, I quick ran the Bravo Burgandy cardstock through the CB. I really love how it turned out, and the best news of all is it was SO simple.
On a side note, my son finally made it to Pasadena, LAST NIGHT at 1145pm! They were actually due to arrive in Pasadena at 630pm last night, but apparently, the whole way from Mpls they were running behind. The kids were BESIDE themselves with agony from the 42 hour trip from Minneapolis. When I spoke with E this morning, he was in a major fog, and I can't say I blame him. I would be too after 42 hours on a bus. I am hoping he was smart enough to try and get a nap in this afternoon, but having to attend two three hour practice sessions today, I don't think he had much time to nap. Or, if he did have a minute to spare, he probably spent it hanging out with his buddies rather than sleeping. I hope no one gets sick!!!
