Wow, two posts in one day, I'm gettin' good at this!!! I promised that I'd post some pictures of my SIL's anniversary card and nephew's birthday card IF they turned out halfway decent, and they did!! First of all, of course I needed my nephew's card to be masculine, so I used this FUN paper I got at my LSS last week. I'm sorry I can't pass on the name of the paper....I used the part of the paper that had the company name on it!!! Thus, I have no CLUE who made it {insert sad face}...if I find it again, I'll be sure to let you know.
First, I punched a hole through the front of the card using the SU 1 3/8 inch circle punch. Then I stamped the birthday stamp from Circle of Friendship and adhered that to the inside of the card, so it peeks out to the front via the hole! Actually, I embossed the birthday stamp in gold, so it really pops. I added a ribbon and a tiny belt buckle that I bought this past summer at a flea market--a ton of them were in a box I bought that was LOADED with ribbon, zippers, buttons, etc. All the ribbons are old, old, old, and boy, were they smelly:)!!! But they add such a special touch to my cards,I can't help but use them!
The anniversary card for my SIL and BIL was made using SU In Full Bloom. I colored the flower with prismas and cut it out and attached it with puffy tape (I'm not sure "puffy tape" is the proper term, but that's what it does....puffs up the image!!)
I distressed the Very Vanilla with Distress Ink by Ranger, and then used the Itty Bitty Background stamp around the edges of the paper. It's matted first on Basic Black. Then I matted THAT on top of a piece of Bravo Burgandy that was stamped with the Canvas bg. The Bravo Burgandy piece was then matted on a piece of Very Vanilla. Finally, ALL of this was mounted on a piece of black cardstock with a white inside. I get this stuff at one of the scrap/stamp stores in my area. I absolutely LOVE this cardstock, because I love using black on the front of cards. This way, I don't have to adhered a piece of blank paper on the inside of the card to write on.
Finally, I want to show you a journal I made today to send to my SIL in VA.
She sells my cards for me to all her friends, so yesterday when I spoke to her on the phone, I asked her if she thought her friends might like these composition journals. Of course, she said yes. She is amazing! I adhered some fabulous Basic Grey paper on the front and spine of the journal, and then added some of the vintage ribbon I got at the flea market to the front as well. "Journal" is spelled out using some rub-ons I had laying around that I had forgotten about. I need to whip up another one of these tonight so I can send my SIL a few of these journals to show her friends.
This is about all I accomplished today. In between stamping, I ran some errands and picked up the house. I don't think I'll get much done tomorrow since I'll have to get the house big time cleaned up for company on Thanksgiving Day. We are expecting 13 guests, so I am excited and stressed all at the same time! We'll be having my folks, my hubby's folks, and then two of my three brothers. It's always so much fun when we get together. Good fun, and great fellowship. I hope all of you are able to experience the same on Thanksgiving Day. God's Blessings to my stampin' sisters!
