Happy Thanksgiving! As you all know, Thanksgiving is a day to remember and give thanks to God for his abundant blessings in our lives. So often we are too busy to stop and give thanks for what we've received. Today I am thankful first and foremost for my family. They are the light of my life. My husband is one of the best out there. My boys are loving, kind and polite. I am also so thankful for the gift of health. I spent a few years NOT so healthy, so it's easy for me to remember how lucky I am to be well. I thank God for the blessing of struggle in my life. Yes, my life is not without it's fair share of heartache/trouble. We have to remember that God puts struggles in our lives for a reason. Sometimes it's a nudge to get back on the right path. Sometimes it's to give us the opportunity to develop a stronger moral character. Regardless of the reasons for our struggles, we can choose to come out on top of them, or let them rule over us. As hard as it is to sometimes come out on top, that's the way I prefer things to end up. Without the struggles, I would not be where I am today. And as my BSF leader said this week in class "I'm not who I want to be just yet, but THANK GOD I'm not who I USED to be". And for that, I am grateful to the one TRUE God. He loves me as I am, and is committed to taking me down the path of goodness. God Bless all everyone on this day of thanks.
