A Card for Mom

Still haven't sat down to stamp lately, although I will have to sometime today. I've got some wedding shower invitations that I need to get made or no one will be showing up at the shower I'm throwing for my nephew's fiance in May! I really love the plan I have for the invites, so when I get them done, I'll post them here.

Here's a Mother's Day card for you to look at today. I used two stamp sets for this card, one is the set Lisa Johnson recently designed for PTI. It's called Life. I love it, but for some reason, I am having a difficult time making anything I make with it look good! It might be the lack of mojo I have when I sit down to stamp these days. For some reason, I can't come up with an original idea to save my life. Being original is like pulling teeth. I'm pretty sure this layout is original though;).

The other stamp set I used is called Mother and it's from PTI as well. The paper is from My Mind's Eye, their Laundry collection, which I adore. The heart is a die cut from Cuttlebug. Overall, I like how the card turned out....maybe I'll use it for my own mom instead of sell it to someone else!

There's been a new twist to our insurance drama that I've been having to worry about and deal with the past few days. It's a long story that I won't go into here, but suffice it to say I'm getting slightly irritated of the constant barrage of "stuff" going on in our lives!

I've got a baseball player in the house that hurt his hand last night at his baseball game. It is very swollen and tender to the touch. I don't think it's broken, just a bad sprain, but I plan on bringing him into the clinic I work at today to have our dr. look at it just to make sure it's not broken. We have an x-ray machine, so a quick deduction can be made regarding a break. We don't have the money to go running into their pediatrician's office just to have him tell us it's a sprain, KWIM? If Dr. Tom thinks it's suspect, it's off to the ped's office we'll go. In addition, my clinic can do some ultrasound therapy as well to help reduce some of the inflammation in his thumb/palm. I am so thankful I have LWC to help us out in times like these now that our deductible is so high! Wish us luck.

Other than that, all is well. Doug just got back from my BIL's internment at Arlington National Cemetary in Washington, DC yesterday. It was an amazing ceremony for an amazing man. I so wish I could have been there.

Have a great day peeps.
Amy
