MisMatched?

I'm sure many of you might look at my first card today and wonder what the heck I was thinking when I put these two designer papers together. I mean, they do not in any way, shape or form "match". But I loved how they looked together, so I just went with it. I actually made the cards back in December, before Christmas, and since I haven't taken any pictures of my new cards yet, I decided to show you these instead.
As usual lately, I dug into my scrap drawer for the paper. In layout, both cards are really, really simple designs. The flowers on both were made using a Sissix die from SU. The large flower was actually cut out from the page of a book I had purchased at a flea market a few years ago. I distressed the page a bit with Ranger Distress Ink in Walnut and then layered it with another smaller flower. A button and rhinestone finish the flower off perfectly.
I used the same purple designer paper for my second card, and added a few scraps of SU designer paper, also from the scrap drawer. This card was even simpler than the first!

So, the mojo has seriously been lacking lately, is anyone else experiencing the same thing? I wonder if it's the weather. For me, I think it's a combination of things, most notably the lack of time I have to stamp now that I work outside the home. When I have been able to stamp for a bit, I find that I have not been able to come up with a layout of my own design for all the tea in China! I think I have to go back to some of the sketches I designed back when I did Super Sketch Sundays (or was it Saturdays?). That might spark the mojo a bit, hmmmm? In the meantime, I'll just do what I can to make sure I keep stamping regardless. I can't stop stamping altogether, can I? That would mean I would have to stop blogging too, since this blog is all about stamping! I'm not ready to stop blogging yet, but if things keep up, I might have to, as sad as that sounds. Pray for stamping time for me!!!!

I'm off to get ready for BSF this morning. Have a great day!
Hugs,
Amy

  4. I love these cards. I was expecting some horribel PPs together. I actually think they work very, very well together. TFS!!!
Oh, and if you have to stop stamping please keep blogging. You can turn it into a "me" blog :)
And it just isn't you that has lost their mojo. Mine has been lacking. Maybe because I haven't been doing much since the holidays. I hope we both get it back soon.

  10. My computer wouldn't let me reply to this yesterday. : ( You can't quit blogging, Amy. I'd sure hate to see you quit stamping too, but even if you don't stamp, please keep your bog going. I lost my creativity and yesterday I just started using challenges to try to jump start it.

By the way I love both cards. The papers look great together to me.
