In Loving Memory....

After a galiant year-long battle with cancer, I am sad to tell you that Kenny passed away this morning, just a few hours ago. I can't begin to tell you how hard it is to accept that he is not with us anymore. That his silly being is no longer. How empty the world seems without him....already. He was a hero to many. He was a friend to all. He will be missed more than he will ever know....
His Journey's Just Begun
by Ellen Brenneman
Don't think of him as gone away-
his journey's just begun.
Life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost--
and he was loved so much.

Rest in peace Kenny. You are now home in the arms of our loving Savior, Jesus Christ. Dear Lord, take Ken's hand and welcome him into your loving Kingdom. He is seeing you face-to-face this morning for the very first time! Help us to take comfort in that fact, Lord. He is no longer suffering but is now rejoicing with you in Heaven.

Take good care of Kenny, Lord. We shall miss him tremendously.

Hugs,

Amy

  24. Amy & Doug:
What a wonderful tribute to Ken! You captured his spirit in all of the photos you posted, and it brought joy to our hearts to see such memorable snapshots of Ken. I think one of the most lasting memories we'll have of Ken is his incredible magnetism to children--he truly loved kids, regardless of whether or not he'd ever met them prior to the moment at hand. He loved them all, played with them, fixed their broken bikes, pulled them into whatever he was doing at the time as "helpers", and made them feel so very special that Ken was there holding them and/or playing with them.
He was quite the charmer for not only the kids, but for adults as well, and we cherish the many times we shared together. Our Friday pizza nights will not be the same without Ken there, but we'll give a toast to him and always remember his winning smile and crazy sense of humor, next pizza night together.
Bless the Dunnum family in this time of grief, and may they know that Ken will be remembered always by so many loving friends and family.
