Ape Over You

I don't really have any cutesy type stamps, so I'm finding the task of making Valentine's Day cards for the Detroit Children's Hospital kids a bit challenging!

Thank heavens I won this Just Hippy Gina K. set from Charmaine this past summer, or I'd have nothing cutesy for the kids cards. I've searched the stores for some VD stamps, but they aren't out in abundance yet around here. I just might have to go looking online to find something I like. Maybe this can be used more for a mom to give to one of her kids....

I am finding I just can't get enough of this Basic Grey paper (Urban Prairie)...is so scrumptious! Both designs you see are from the Urban collection. I colored the monkey with my Copics, and then cut him out and planted him right there, front and center near the sentiment. I like how it turned out! It was so simple, which you just gotta love. I hope the kids like it.

I don't know about where you live, but it is COLD here today! Yikes. I think it was 3 below this morning, and over the next few days it's supposed to get even colder, I guess. Oh, and we're geting more snow too. Enough already! The Hubster is in Iowa City today. He's due back late tonight. The kids are both off to school, so it's just me, myself and I this morning! Woo-hoo! I plan on stamping a bit before I have to get ready to go into work.

I hope you all have a great day!

Hugs,
Amy

  4. Amy,

From what I read they need cards for "kids" up to age 20 - so this should be great! Older kids won't want the super-cutesy stuff.

  6. Cute card Amy! I just mailed out a few cards to Pat in Detroit today. Mailed out with a prayer that's for sure.

  7. This is adorable and I agree, I cannot get enough of the Urban Prairie paper. Definitely a favorite of mine! Just FYI, I have had very good luck with All That Scraps and their C.C. Designs "Itzie Inkies" stamp sets for children's Valentines. Also, their shipping is very reasonable (and free for orders over just 25.00.)

  9. Amy,
First, I like the card. Even an older brother, who is hospitalized, can give the card to a girlfriend or sister.

You have two people in your house that you could ask for ideas for the Children's Hospital cards. Not having a son (who can talk), I asked the young man, cashiering at Target, his opinion for a card. He said to use a sport theme for the card.

With your two sons, I bet you have some stamps they like.

This week end I plan to start stamping. I can't beleive all next week is going to be ffffreezing.

  10. Cute card! I don't have many cutesy stamps either, but managed to put together enough to get a first batch going to Pat tomorrow. Will be working on more to send next week. I'm waiting for the mailman to bring my Urban Prairie order. :)
