Hugs & Kisses

So, tell me, what do you think of this card? It's a bit different, isn't it? I actually love how it turned out. Even more, I love how unconventional it is....have you ever seen a JustRite stamp used this way? I haven't!

Since I'm usually a follower and not a leader, it's probably already been done somewhere in blogland, lol. Usually I'm jumping on the bandwagon a bit after it's gone through town, if you know what I mean. In other words, I am NOT a visionary.

What I did is stamped a border and center from my new JustRite Christmas Stamp Ensemble. I put both border and center on the wooden stamper at the same time. Then I cut out the center out using a circle Nestie. I was originally going to stamp the center again on a different sheet of cardstock, but nothing I did looked right. So instead of chucking it all, I used both the center and the border separately on the card, and then stuck a chipboard star in the middle of the border. A vintage button and some ribbon were added for a bit more pizazz. The paper is from the Fancy Pants Christmas collection. I added a few jewels to the sentiment and this baby was complete. I hope you like it!

Life has been crazy around here, to say the least. I am getting used to my new job. I actually think I'm going to love it once I get the hang of working the front desk. The customers are soooo nice, and the staff is even nicer. I work 4 days a week, and when I'm not there, I've been working on my buys. Doug is still unemployed, if you can believe it. I certainly can't. God has just not answered our prayers as far as that goes. There are a few things in the works, but I just can't get excited about them or too worked up about them anymore because I've learned from past experience that it hurts too much if you do. So, stay tuned. If anything happens, you know I'll be shouting it out here on my blog. I went to the dermatologist yesterday for my 6 month checkup. I had a bunch of pre-cancerous skin thingy's frozen and now they are starting to itch. Since I am such a high risk case for skin cancer, I see the dr. regularly. I already had a patch of it on my face, so we just cannot be too careful, if you know what I mean.

Well, I hope you are all doing well. I've been having fun making a few cards here and there, mostly to maintain my sanity. I'm just creating as I find the time, which is all I can do.

Holiday hugs,
Amy

  2. Hey Amy,
Really pretty! So glad the new job is working out for you! God will bring the right one for your husband in the right time. He's probably shifting things around even now for things to fall into place. We just have to wait for those fickle humans to fall in with His plans!
    Have a blessed day!!!
