Rock On!

I picked up the cutest Indadinakado clear stamp set at Michael's the other day, and I'm so glad I did. It's called Rock Star. The guitar in the set is totally rockin'!

I made both cards late last week, inspired by this card by Michelle Zindorf. My goodness that girl is talented. She has more talent in her little finger than I do in my whole body!

I used Rockstar paper from DCWV for both cards. The music stamp in the background is one I bought from some woman who used to sell stamps out of her house and on Ebay. It is by Great Impressions (Olympia, WA). I have no idea if the stamp company is still around, however.

The sentiment on the card on the right is from the Verve set called Starlight Starbright. Both of these cards were made with guys in mind, thus the lack of embellies. I like the card on the right the best because I "grounded" the guitar, which I didn't do for the card on the left. It definitely looks better, IMHO!

I really don't have a great update on my mom yet this morning. I do know she is hard at work in PT already. They certainly don't let you nurse your wounds, do they? I think they had her sitting up on the side of the bed just hours after they operated. No word yet on the paralysis. I think she will be speaking to both the ortho and neuro today, so I told her to be sure and ask that question about the spinal epidural. My dad seems to think the mouth looks better. I didn't see her or talk to her yesterday because we were at church all morning and then went to the MN Vikings football game after church. The four of us got to sit in a suite and eat lots of yummy food! The game was atrocious even though we won. The crowd was booing the team and chanting to fire the coach! He definitely does need to go!

I have to work at church tonight, so if my mom isn't discharged today, I'll go visit her, since our church is near the hospital. I am getting ready to head out to a lunch appointment shortly here, so it's time to say so long. Have a great day!

Hugs,
Amy

  3. Great cards! I just got this set last week and haven't had time to play with it yet. I got it because my oldest son is a Rock Band fanatic and now wants an electric guitar for his birthday next month. I guess that puts an end to the little quiet there is in our house :)
Glad to hear your mom is doing okay and hopefully getting better each and every day! Prayers to you all.

  9. Oh wow. That is the most beautiful guitar stamp I've ever seen! My 8 yr. old now wants a guitar and to learn to play. She's begging me for one for CHristmas. Hmm... I might have to get this stamp and sentiment! LOL. Your card is very elegant.
