A Girl and a Horse

One of my biggest passions outside of stamping, probably even more than stamping, is photography. I'm sure that doesn't surprise many of you since I like to share some of the photographs I've taken on my blog once in a while.

Yesterday I had the chance to take some shots of my niece Jessica, who is a senior this year. One of her passions is horses, so she wanted some senior photos of her and her horse Victory. It was a gorgeous day...we had so much fun playing! By the end of the photo session though, Victory was acting like a little butt, so we called it quits. He kept turning around and nipping at her leg to show her was the boss-man in charge and that he was FINISHED with this modeling thing!

Here are of the shots I was able to capture. All of the photos have been touched up in Photoshop Elements a tiny bit. I am SO happy with how they turned out, and the few shots I emailed to Jessica for a sneak peek were a big hit. All in all, I took nearly 500 shots (!), and at least 100 turned out really well. The one thing I'm most excited about is the emotion I felt I captured in the shots. You can really see that Jess loves Victory, can't you? Oh, to be young and beautiful again....now I just have to settle for beautiful, HA!!!! Just kidding....

This week has been absolutely crazy, so I didn't get the chance to stamp, nor have I felt like stamping. The creative juices are starting to stir again though, so I imagine I'll be stamping this weekend before long. The Hubster got a last minute freelance gig for ESPN Radio again. He is currently in Columbia, South Carolina preparing for the South Carolina/LSU football game. We were supposed to go out of town for a little get away this weekend, but not surprisingly, work and money won out!
Hopefully I'll be able to share a card with you Monday, that is if I get my butt to the stamping table. Keep your fingers crossed.
Until then, here are a few more parting shots of Jess! The one of Jess gazing into Victory's eyes is one of my favorites.
Hugs,
Amy

  1. these are amazing! perhaps this should be the side work you're looking for! i like the one of her laying on victory's mane best, and the one where she's not looking at the camera. fall really hasn't arrived down here yet, and may not, with the drought.

    thanks for sharing!

  2. Happy Day Amy! I don't think I've commented on your blog in awhile, but you're on my google reader and I'm a faithful follower of yours. These photos are OUTSTANDING! You've got skills girl! If you hadn't told us this was your niece and I know you have two sons, I would have thought for sure she was your daughter. There is much resemblance to her beautiful Aunt Amy!
Also, want you to know I look forward to seeing your card creations and hope you find time to stamp something for us this weekend. Smiles, Pam :)

And then tomorrow, repeat the process. :)

These pics are gorgeous. Your niece is beautiful and so is her baby. I was in love like that when I was a teen. How I wish life could be that simple again. You really captured the innocence and her love for the animal. Great job! Stacy
