For a Baby Girl

I'm so excited to share today's card with you because I {{{{heart}}}}} how it turned out!

I won this Gina K. stamp set (Just So Hippy illustrated by Melanie Muenchinger) over at Charmaine's blog (Oodabug Alley) this past summer. I was SOOO happy to have won it! I swear, once the Hubster finds a job, I'm buying Little Tee's and Just So Sporty from Gina K. Designs. I ADORE the cards I see using those two sets. Sorry, I'm digressing a bit. Cute stamp sets have a way of doing that to me! Back to the card at hand, tee-hee.

Since I was feeling a bit "scrappy" this past weekend, I pulled out some designer paper scraps, distressing ink, vintage lace and got busy.

The first thing I did was run a piece of Pretty In Pink cardstock through the Cuttlebug (Swiss Dot embossing folder). I found a polka dot piece of designer scrap paper and sewed a piece of vintage lace on one end with my Janome Sew Mini and distressed the edges of the paper.

Next, it was time to color. I stamped the adorable giraffe with Memento Cocoa ink and started coloring him with my Copic markers. I used my Stardust Gel pen for a little sparkle. Then I cut the giraffe out and mounted him to a heart hand cut from some coordinating designer scraps. It still needed a little more pizazz at this point, so I added the scalloped strip across the card. It's got lots of sparkle in it that you can't see in this picture!

See that little sign hanging from Mr. Giraffe's tail? Those are two little stamps included in the Just So Hippy set...one stamp is the box image, and the other stamp is the sentiment. I first stamped the box on a piece of More Mustard cardstock, and then stamped the sentiment inside the box. I cut it out and then took a piece of pink wire and made a hanger for the sign to hang from his little tail! Isn't it cute? Here's a close-up of the sign so you can see it a bit better.....

Finally, I added the little baby sentiment (from SU!) on the right side of the card and punched it out using my oval punch. I matted it with More Mustard cardstock, and cut around the sentiment with tiny scalloped scissors. It is mounted to the front of the card using dimensionals.

Now I just wish I had someone to send this card to!!! I don't know anyone having a baby girl! Actually, I do know who I'm going to send it to, but I'm going to keep that a secret. And no, this person is NOT having a baby, but I think she'd like it just the same.

Have a great day!

Hugs,
Amy
