Tornado's and Cupcakes

Well, I think the tornado warning has finally expired. Some wicked weather just passed through here and I'm happy to say I think we're in the clear again. I was out running a few errands and these fierce clouds rolled in. I must add that it was 90 and HUMID before the storm showed up. Conditions were ripe for bad storms.

Anyways, I was in Michael's when the sirens went off. The mom with three kids in front of me in the checkout lane literally RAN out of the store the minute she heard the sirens. Me? Like most Minnesotan's, I stayed in line and finished my transaction, oblivious to the sirens. But when I got outside, it looked eerily dark, with big green rolling clouds above me. I called Youngest Son who was at a friends house playing wiffle ball and told him to be careful. As I drove home, it got worse and worse, so I called Youngest Son again and told him I was coming to get him. About 5 blocks from the intended pickup, the winds started whipping and garbage and all sorts of gunk was flying in front of my car. When I arrive at location to pick son up, I notice he's bringing 2 other friends into the car with him! WHAT?????????? I have to bring these boys home in the middle of a raging storm, not to mention possible tornado? Being the nice Mom that I am, I bring the boys home, in the opposite direction from our house. And, each boy lived on the opposite end of town! Yikes! I could hardly see out the window. As we neared the first dropoff, the hail started! That's right, my little car is getting pummeled with pea sized hail and there wasn't a thing I could do about it! The only saving grace is the car I was driving (Muriel's old car) had already been hail damaged many years ago and was totaled. So, what's a little more hail? So, I kept on driving. It was garbage and recyling day today in the neighborhoods I was driving through, so garbage was strewn EVERYWHERE! By the time we dropped off all the boys, the storm had passed. My neighbor lost the top of her big tree. My deck was a disaster....chairs thrown everywhere, and my flowers looked like they'd been through the ringer. I'm sure in a few hours they will look fine again....I hope!

Well, besides tornado day, it's also cupcake day here at Heartfelt Greetings! This is the little set I shared with you about yesterday...how's it's only $8, and how it is oh so adorable. Remember? Here's the card I promised to share with you today....isn't it sweet?

The designer paper is Basic Grey's Sultry Collection. I think I actually made this card a few weeks back for one of the challenges over at Our Creative Corner. I think you had to use Basic Grey paper on your card. I never submitted it to them, but I guess it was the thought that counts, right? Anyhoo, I had so much fun playing with these cupcakes! I actually paper pieced the cupcake wrappers, and then colored the frosting on each of the cupcakes with my Copic markers.

I can't wait to make some more cupcake cards!

Well, I've rambled long enough. You can find this Impression Obsession cupcake set at Stamper's Dream. Hurry though, you don't want them to sell out before you get one for yourself!
Hugs,
Amy

(Edited to note: I mistakenly put in this post earlier today that the cupcake set was on sale, and I have to tell you that it is NOT on sale!!!! My bad.....so sorry!!!!!!)
