I Scream, You Scream, we all Scream for.....

Ice Cream!!!

The SCS Summer Fest Gathering was a great time yesterday! I got to see a bunch of fun ladies who I haven't seen in a long time, and I got to make some fun swaps too! The star of the party was probably Pine, aka Heather (Pine Is Here). She's on the Papertrey design team and makes beautiful things with PTI stamps. After looking at some of the cards she brought yesterday, I was inspired to bring some of her ideas home to try on my own. I'll share those later this week, ok? Another famous stamper in attendance was HB (as she's known on SCS). Her real name is Carol. I had not met her previously, so it was fun to get to know her yesterday too. She's got a fab blog called called Happiness Blooms. I've got it on my Google Reader now, so I won't miss another card that she blogs ever again!

Last night Youngest Son and the Hubster went to Elko Speedway to watch some races. That means I was left home alone (remember, Oldest Son is counseling at church camp this week) to have to stamp, oh darn. I hate when that happens, LOL. One of the cards I managed to get done yesterday was a remake of a store-bought card I received from a business colleague a few months ago. I thought it was so cute, and SOOOOOOO easy to recreate. Here's the card I got in the mail....
And here's my version of the card.... it took me a while to get it the way I wanted it, and I did take some liberties with the original design.

But, overall, I thought it turned out cute! It was too much work though, so I won't be making more than one of these for a long time. I like easy, simple to mass produce cards, unless I'm making cards for my design team commitments. If I'm just making them to sell, I will usually make four of any one card. After that, I get bored!!!

We've got another beautiful day on our hands today! We've been sleeping and waking to temps in the 60's--I LOVE THAT!!! By the middle of the day, it's in the 70's. No plans for us today except get some grocery shopping done. It's Eldest Son's birthday tomorrow so I need to figure out what we're getting him for a gift. He's 17, I can hardly believe it. He comes home from camp tomorrow night about 630p, and then we'll take him out for a burger to celebrate!

Hugs,
Amy

  4. Amy:

Liz and I were watching one of those "informercial" about this thing called the "CRICUT" -- you plug it in, choose a shape or phrase or image, press a button and POP! the thing comes out all ready. They show them making cards and we were wondering: do you use something like this to do your cards?
