Heart Sing

I first saw this set used (Heart Sing by Rubber Soul) by Debbie Olson over at Thinking Inking and I loved it from first glance. Of course, Debbie makes ANYTHING she touches beautiful, so it's easy to fall in love with stamps she features on her blog. Unfortunately, when I buy the stamps myself, I find that I cannot make anything that looks remotely as beautiful as hers did using the same stamp!

Imagine my happiness when I opened my first shipment of stamps from Michelle at Stamper's Dream and it included this set! I hit the jackpot! It was the very first stamp I inked up after opening the box.

The designer paper I used is by Memory Box. It's a 6x6 collection of patterned paper in aqua and chocolate brown, yummy yummy colors. It can also be found in Michelle's store. The pack comes with 3 sheets of 10 different patterns! What I love about paper this size is that the pattern is then consistent with the size of the card...when you buy 12x12, obviously, the pattern is larger and you are able to fit less of the full pattern on your card front. You can't see it from this picture very well, but at the top and bottom of the card, in the center of the little flower, I placed tiny, tiny clear gemstones from Hero Arts. All these supplies; the gemstones, the paper AND the stamp can be found at Stamper's Dream. One stop shopping, gotta love it.

I found it funny how easily this card came together for me, which is not typical, trust me! But everything about it, the color, the layout, all the different elements just flowed. I wish it worked like this all the time! I made the card a few weeks ago, and now, looking at it again, makes me feel like taking it out and making some more magic. Hopefully it will be cooperative, LOL.

Gosh, it has been LOUSY here ALL WEEK! I can't believe how gloomy, rainy, and downright yucky it's been. Last night, in the time frame of about an hour, we got 2.5 inches of rain! There was lots of lighting and thunder too. This morning it's gloomy again, and I think there are more storms in the forecast. Does anyone remember this song, I think it was sung by Barney and the Gang back in the day..."Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me. Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, hiding behind a tree.....these BIG children are asking you, to please come out so we can play with you....Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun, please shine down on me......"

Oh my gosh, I just frightened myself with how easily that song came back to me 15 years after I last sang it with my now 17 year old, LOL!!!! Isn't it amazing the capacity of the human mind? That those lyrics are still inside my brain is astounding!

Now, if only my singing the song will entice Mr. Sun to come on out and play with me....

Hugs,
Amy

  9. Hey, I sang right along with ya, and mine are 22 and 20! LOL!
BTW, I don't know if good ol' Barney & the gang sang that too, but it was definitely on a Raffi tape we played over & over & over again.... (guess that's why they are imbedded in our brains!)
