Today's card is a little different than the one I made yesterday....so totally dark for me this time of year! All of my cards this summer have typically been bright, but this time, I went muted and subdued to give you an idea how one stamp set can look completely different based on the papers and colors you choose to create it. To begin, I stamped my flower images with Versamark, on a piece of glossy paper. I think I chose a total of 3 different silhoutte flower stems to make this main image. Once I had the images stamped, I covered them with brown embossing powder and heated. When the stems had cooled, I sponged on Certainly Celery Ink to make the stems pop. The background paper is actually a piece of Basic Grey designer paper stamped with one of the floral stems from the set in Chocolate Roan ink. The sentiment is from Verve's new set called Feeling Groovy.

I hope you can see how many different things you can do with this awesome Inque Boutique set called Silhouettes. Remember, all IB stamps are on sale today at Stamper's Dream, you get 20% off using this coupon code: AMAZING. I know you'll love working with their stamps!

Well, now for an update on the 2008 Women's Open that we attended yesterday. We had a great day!!! We arrived at the club about 930a, I think. There was no parking at the club, so we went to a pre-designated location, parked, and then were shuttled to the club in buses. The weather in the morning was lovely, it was cloudy and in the 70's (perfect for watching golf). The crowd was really manageable because it was dispersed over 18 holes instead of in one specific area. We did a little bit of walking, but ended up in the grandstand on Hole 18 for much of the morning, watching each team finish up their morning round. The greens were WICKED, no one we saw putted well they were that difficult! Around noon, it got really hot and steamy, so we went into the clubhouse and had some lunch. After lunch we went out and watched some more golf, but it was almost too hot with the sun bearing down on us from that point on. I think we left around 3 or so. Or tried to leave around 3! Trying to find your way out of an 18 hole golf course set up for a championship golf match is difficult at best! Crazy, I tell you! But overall, what a great time we had. I will have to watch a little of the final rounds today and tomorrow on NBC!

Well, I am going to get moving now and try to get some stamping done. Oldest Son is marching in a parade later today that we'll go and watch, and then my FIL is coming over for some BBQ. Hubby put a pork shoulder in the smoker this morning, so we'll have pulled pork for dinner tonight, yum!

Hugs,
Amy
