Yippee!

Blogger has stopped misbehavin' finally!

Isn't it frustrating when Blogger is acting up? The good news is they seem to have worked out the kinks today, so here is my card. I used this weeks sketch again, which is so simple! I love simple layouts! I'm all about getting done with something and movin' on. I hope you'll get a chance to try the sketch too. Be sure and check out the gallery over at SCS. The search code is SSS1.

Guess who makes these luscious papers??? If you guessed Basic Grey, you guessed right! This Sultry line contains lots of my two favorite colors.....pink and green!

This time, in place of the ribbon, I used a strip of Tim Holtz' grunge board. I bought some a long time ago and hadn't figured out a way to use it yet until this card came along. I painted the board with an Adirondack paint dabber (Lettuce) and then glued it down where the ribbon was supposed to go. Instead of using an image AND a sentiment in the lower right corner, I chose to just go with a sentiment this time round. The flowers are from SU and are held together using a jeweled brad.

Well, yesterday and today have been really busy. That's why I didn't get around to posting yesterday or today, until now. As I've said before, BSF takes up all my time in the early part of the week, so not much time to either stamp or post, {{{insert sad face}}}. The other thing bumming me out is that a chest infection has taken up residence in my lungs, which is NOT a good thing for me. As soon as I felt it coming on yesterday, I started the antibiotics. I have a funny feeling it's going to be turning into laryngitis soon! I also seem to be sneezing alot this afternoon, but I think that's allergies, yuck! I should NOT be having allergy problems after enduring allergy shots for 2 years!!! This is typically my bad time of year, so I'm bracing myself for the worst and plan on doing nasal rinses every night to wash out the allergens lurking in my nasal passages. Have any of you ever done nasal rinses? Or the neti pot? I first saw a neti pot used on Oprah. I thought it was the strangest thing. But people suffering from allergies and other sinus problems swear by it. I got the nasal rinse from my allergist a few months ago, and I used it a few times, but then stopped. Now I need to go to the store and buy some more saline packets so I can get started again. Drop me a note if you've used one of these and what your thoughts are on them. Did you see an improvement in your symptoms? Did you hate it? I would love to know what you think!

Well, it's time to go get ready for din-din. I made this pot roast today and it smells heavenly upstairs! Hubby is going to make some mashed potatoes and then we'll be set. After din-din it's time for Idol! I hope Carly has a great week, they are SO hard on her, she needs a break!

Hugs,
Amy

  1. Neti Pot? Absolutely life changing. No more allergies, no more sinus infections, get over colds really fast, no more sinus headaches. Once a day and you will even get fewer viruses as most viruses come in through your nose. I started awhile back and am addicted. My sister and BIL used to have constant sinus problems and neither have had an infection in a couple of years. Make sure the water is lukewarm. I prefer the Neil Med packets to the Sinus Rinse ones just due to the smell difference.

Hope you get to feeling better soon...although, I fear the allergy season is upon us.

And the pot thingie? I only did it once and it was so horrible. So I'm probably not the one to ask. ;) Feel better soon!

  4. Love the Neti Pot! I couldn't live without it. Once every day if I'm now outside, morning AND night if I've been out in the pollen. Go for it! It can't (and doesn't) hurt!

  6. First off - love the card! ;-)

And about the neti pot - I got one a few weeks ago, and now I'm a true believer! I love that thing! It is a little weird, I'll admit it, but I just can't say enough good about it! My Dad rushed out and got one as soon as he saw how clear my head is with it. I can actually breathe out of my nose! Probably the first time for that in about 5 years - no lyin'!

  10. Love the card and the neti pot! I bought it after seeing it on Oprah as well ;) It was working well for me until I decided to be lazy and didn't warm the water before I used it - DO NOT DO THIS!!! I thought it was the rinse that burned my nose but turns out it was the cold water - not pleasant. So I've been a little hesitant to try it again but I know that while I was using it, I never got a sinus infection. And with two young kids coughing into my face all the time, I was constantly getting them.

Anyway, my advice is to go for it, but follow the directions ;)

By the way, can someone tell me what snow mold is??

    Good luck,

    Alison

  11. I have never personally used a neti pot. However my aunt has one and she says it works. All I know is that it a great source of entertainment for us.
