For A Baby Boy

This is one of my favorite cards from the retreat this past weekend, and the simplest too!

The paper, which I bought on clearance at Target a LONG TIME AGO, seemed like the perfect paper for a boy baby card. This was the funnest paper I worked with all weekend!!! I think it's from Memory Makers, but if that's not right, someone let me know please. Since it was part of a big 12x12 pack, there is no company name on the back of each sheet.

The moon/stars image came from the new SU! set called So Many Scallops. Man, this set makes making cards SO easy! I first stamped it on Whisper White cardstock, colored it with my Copics, and then stamped the image again onto a coordinating piece red designer paper. From this image, I cut out only the "Sweet One" sentiment and adhered it to the image stamped on the Whisper White cardstock. It's adhered with dimensional tape, which makes the whole completed image 3-dimensional.

Isn't it adorable? I plan on making this card over and over again, it was so easy. I made a baby girl version of the card this weekend too, but I'll share that with you later this week.

Today consists of getting things organized after being away for a few days playing. That's the price you've got to pay for personal play time, but I'm cool with that. It was a much needed break, and I'm not sorry I took it for myself. But, now it's time to settle down again. I have to get my allergy shots today (yuck, yuck, yuck), and I'm supposed to meet with an old colleague tonight after she gets off work. She works in the corporate offices at Archiver's--she's in the marketing department. I think I'll see if she's got any jobs available for me! LOL. If you've got a connection, in this day and age, you've got to tap into it! We worked together at the advertising agency several years ago. I remember when she gave her notice to go work at Archivers. They were a relatively new company at that point, and everyone was poo-pooing her decision to leave "the best agency in the modern world" to go work for a, god forbid, scrapbook company {roll eyes}. I think she had the last laugh, don't you think? They are HUGE now! I love it when that happens!

Be sure and have a wonderful day. It's warming up slightly this week in Minneapolis. There's hope yet we'll emerge from this winter tundra we've been living in!

Hugs,
Amy

  5. SO cute!!! This is a perfect baby card. I have this set on order & have been impatiently awaiting its arrival. Glad your weather is a bit better - anything's an improvement at this point I guess. Our weather is gorgeous, but my back is still down & out - but the rehab people say that it WILL get better (I hope soon, since our BSF leaders retreat is the last of this month!) Ooooo - work at Archivers - every stampers dream! I'll pray they have an opening for you!!!
