Scrap Stash Saturday

Good morning!

I was going to blow off Scrap Stash Saturday today because I didn't get a card made yesterday (I ususally make my SSS card on Friday). But, as I was sitting here twiddling my thumbs until the boys woke up, I thought, what the heck. I'll give the girls what they want and make them a card for SSS!

Here are the rich, warm papers I picked out when I closed my eyes and stuck my hand into my scrap drawer this morning. Well, I guess MOST of them are rich and warm. The orange striped paper doesn't quite live up to that description, does it? Actually, I love that orange paper, it's one of my favorites! What do you think...do you think I was able to make them all work together? Well, I think I was successful! The card came together really quickly. Thank heavens! Here's what I managed to create using all these fun papers.....

What do you think? Kind of a cool, asian look. I'm not a big fan of asian-themed cards, but I like how this card turned out. Do you see where all the papers ended up? The red Basic Grey paper ended up in flowers and in the horizontal strips I put underneath the main image. The orange paper showed up in flowers and as a mat for the main image. The brown and white Webster's Pages paper ended up as flowers and as the mat for the main background paper. And the paper on the far right of the picture ended up as the main background paper.

As I was getting ready to photograph the card, I smudged the sentiment!!! Grrrrrrrr! I was so upset, but not upset enough to remake the card! I thought restamping it on an oval punch and laying it over the smudge might work, but in the end, I was too lazy. Whatever. Not the end of the world.

So, what do you have planned for the day? I've got laundry, cleaning, and stamping to get done. I plan on being relatively lazy all day! Yeah! I love being lazy. Right now I'm going to go make some waffles, yummy!! Do you want to come over and share one with me? I'd love to have you!

Hugs,
Amy

  1. Amy,
I was worried when I saw that orange stripe paper but I love how it looks with that style of flower! Waffles sound yummy but a little too far to fly for breakfast. My day has dishes in the near future and hopefully some stamping. DH isn't up yet so not sure what he has planned for us today. Hope you enjoy your "lazy" day.Melanie

How do you do it!??? - and, every week! This card is gorgeous! If I picked those papers out, I would have put them right back in the drawer and gone back to bed and chalked it up to a bad omen for the day, lol. Great job, Amy!!!

  20. This is absolutely beautiful! You are truly amazing. What did I do today? Well, were your ears burning? I was at an all-day crop at my lss and sat by a friend of mine, Meg, who ,also, happens to be one of your loyal blog readers. First, we discussed how awesome and sweet you were! Then we hoped that your husband would find a job soon (don't ya just love it when complete strangers on the other side of the country are discussing your business.) Finally, we got to talking about SSS and several others who were not familiar with you blog got involved with that topic and thought it was a completely neat idea! We turned them on to your wonderful blog so hopefully, they will stop by. What did I work on today at the crop- ATCs for a SWAP that I'm doing. What was the focal image- a BIRD stamp, of course! Flourishes stamps were suggested for the SWAP so I got to ink up my new "Love Birds" set. Wishing you a great rest of the weekend! Take care!
