Funky Snowman

I made this little snowman card for a very special blogging friend, but I can't share who it is yet because I haven't sent it! It's still sitting here in my studio waiting for me to make up a little treat package to go along with it! Mmmm, mmm, good.

I've never paper pieced a snowman before, because well, typically they're all WHITE! But, for this occasion, because my friend is a very colorful person, I decided I wanted a funky snowman, to go along with her personality. I pulled out my Cuttlebug for a little help with the snowflakes, and I pulled out my Figgy Pudding paper to dress the snowman! And I can't forget the Diamond Dust sprinked at his feet for a little bit of snow. Sweet.

What I think is MOST special about this card is the special greeting you see right next to the snowman. It says Heartfelt Greetings! Could you just scream???????????? My blog name in a STAMP? How lucky can a girl get? My blogging friend Julie Masse saw it online one day at Anna Wight's store and emailed to tell me about it. How's that for a friend? I've never had anyone do that for me before! Thanks Julie! You rock, girl! I love my new stamp!

I can't wait to send it off to it's intended recipient. I hope she likes it!

Say, I'm thinking about cutting back from blogging for the holidays. It's apparent everyone is busy getting ready for the holidays and there really hasn't been much traffic/commenting here lately. So, my guess is, there's not much time for blurfing these days and that's cool. Maybe if everyone is taking a break from reading, I'll take a break from writing. I can barely get any cards made anyways! As much as I'll miss ya, I could use a break too. I still have to give this idea some thought. I really do enjoy blogging. It would be weird not to write everyday. Maybe I'll have an answer for myself by this weekend. For now, I'll post as usual. If I can find the time to make a card or two!!!!

Hugs,
Amy

  1. See, this is exactly why I love visiting your blog...because I never would have thought to use patterned paper for a snowman...But he is so cute!

  2. I feel the same way about the comments (as you already know! : ) There is less traffic these days, but I know I am not blurfing as much either! I don't know where the time goes lately! You know I am always visiting.....

very cute card today! Your friend will love this! I'm a daily reader, but dont always have time to comment - or else I feel as if my comments are just redundant. I appreciate all you do even if I don't comment daily. During this busy time of year, we all could use some extra time to do what we have to do! Hang in there, I'm sure we're all still here:)

  4. Oh, this card is positively adorable! Love that colorful snowman, and the awesome sentiment! I haven't commented very regularly lately, but I read your blog every day. This is definitely a busy time of year, so if you need a break, take it, girlie. You deserve it! :)

  5. I've noticed a decline in traffic too. I'm here reading just not much time to comment these days. ;)

  6. I am so guilty of not commenting but I read every blog you write, Amy. But, I certainly would understand if you don't have time to write as I haven't updated my blog in the longest time and I do have stuff to post. So, do what you need to do to make the holidays happy for you and your family. We will be here when you get back.

  7. Such a cute card Amy! The stamp looks great! :) So glad you were able to get it - I thought of you immediately when I saw it! I think with Google Reader and other things like that a lot of people just read posts there and don't click through, could be the reason for less traffic. I think people are still reading .. just less time for commenting. I like to think that's what it is anyway! ;)

Cute card...great sentiment...what a sweet find! I am a daily reader/lurker but I totally understand your holiday thoughts. The Lord is really impressing on me that the time is short with my high-school age kids. We only have a few of these Christmases left and they don't need "crazy mom" to come for a visit. Have a wonderful day!

  10. Wah!!!! You can't not blog! Your blog is in my top 3 favorites and I would be so bummed if I couldn't stop in every day and see what you've been up to. Very selfish, I know, but...I'm selfish. And I already miss your Saturday scrap challenge because you haven't done it in awhile. Pout. Sad face. Tears. (Okay, so that's a stretch. No tears. But I could probably eek out a few if it would help. LOL!) That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. :)

I read your blog daily Amy and love your work. I don't comment often. I always am in awe of the time and effort bloggers put forth for others enjoyment. I'm sure that taking a break is a well deserved treat for you and you shouldn't feel guilty. I'll be here when you post!

  16. Oh my - that snowman is sooooo cute. I would have never thought to make him out of designer paper but it works so well!!! I don't comment a lot but I try to check in on my favorite blogs as much as possible (that's you! and a couple others). I try to make it daily but you're right it doesn't always happen now that the holidays are upon us. I'd miss you so much you know but you've gotta take care of you and yours. Edither way, I'll be here waiting. *wink*

PS If I commented everyday it would always say - You are so creative - I love your stuff - you rock - and OH Yea! why didn't I think of that. *hee hee*

  17. Hi Amy, Yes, I agree that I can get caught in just using my google reader to read the blogs of the day. Guilty of not commenting as much due to a very busy time of year....don't take it personally, I love your work. Saw your post over on SCS and I too am hit and miss with comments (although I don't use many SU products). Just wanted you to know that I visit and enjoy your posts!

Amy, I just noticed how many visitors you've had to your beautiful blog, people are reading and looking even if not writing. It's fun to read about your family adventures. You do deserve a break, put your feet up and rest a while.
