Makeover Monday-Not

Hi guys.

No time to make over anything this weekend, I was too busy! I'm feeling overwhelmed with work, both "bring home the bacon" kind of work, and the "don't make much money" kind of work associated with my craft. Ugh. Because of this, I don't have much time to spend blogging today because I've got lots of "bring home the bacon" kind of work sitting here staring me in the face.

I finally got to papercraft a Christmas tree this weekend! I suppose this could technically count as a "makeover" of some sort, since I did "makeover" a stryofoam Christmas tree...it's a stretch, but I'll feel better if I can call it that! The only problem I had was taking a picture of the little bugger. I don't know if my camera is acting up (that would seriously be a bad thing), or if I'm just a lousy photographer. Probably a little of both!

Here is the finished tree, sitting amongst my holiday decorations. We got both trees up and decorated yesterday, as well as the mantel decorated, but I'm not up for much more than that. I think it turned out pretty fun, but it was putzy, slow work! Lot's of glue gun glue, {{ouch}} and {{eewww}}. You know how much you burn your fingers with that stuff, and how it gets all these tee tiny strands of glue everywhere! But hey, it works like a charm, so I'll suck it up for the sake of crafting.

To start off, I cut a bunch of 3 inch by 1.5 inch strips of Figgy Pudding paper. Then I ran them through my glue pad and them sprinkled Diamond Dust all over them. Oh, I forgot. I also fringed the strips and curled them with my bone folder. THEN I glued and sprinkled DD all over them. I painted a small clay pot gold, put styrofoam inside the pot, and stuck a dowel both into the tree and then into the pot. A bow was placed at the top of the tree to finish it off. Pretty simple, but tedius. Just be prepared. But so worth it cuz it looks really cute when it's finished! I just love all these projects being introduced on SCS, don't you?

Well, I've gotta hustle now and get busy on my radio and tv buys. I'm also working on a crash and burn project for Webster's Pages that needs to be at their offices by tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Hugs,
Amy
