It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Good morning peeps! TGIF!!!! Whew. I thought the day would never get here, and now that it is I'm SO happy!

I plan on getting a little bit of "real work" done today, that'd be my freelance radio and tv buys. Then I plan on getting some stampin' done too, woo-hoo! The only card-making I've done this week is getting some cards ready for the next Caardvarks Challenge, which I THINK is starting tomorrow or Saturday. It's gonna be a big, fun challenge, so strap on your stampin'/craftin' shoes and get ready to RUMBLE! I thought my cards for this challenge turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. You will not BELIEVE the AMAZING cards in this new challenge gallery, I think the designers really out did themselves this time (my cards pale in comparison, trust me)!

Today's card is a card I made last weekend when I stamped with Lue. It's the first card I've shared this week that I didn't use my Basic Grey clear stamps! Finally. For this one, I pulled out an old favorite, Lovely As A Tree. The layout isn't original, and the glitter on the trees isn't original, but what's a girl to do?? I can't always be reinventing the wheel, can I? NO!!! Sometimes you just gotta rely on other people's bright ideas to get you through the day!

So, are any of you photographer wanna-be's? I am. Especially this time of year. I want to get the perfect shot of the lights on the Christmas tree, but alas, it eludes me 9 times out of 10. I must have taken 75 shots late yesterday afternoon, but only 5 turned out! Ahhh, the blessings of digital cameras! I was able to delete the 70 shots that didn't turn out and start over! The coloring is WAY dark on most of these when I put them on my blog, but IRL they aren't so dark. If anyone has any tips for me on how to take great tree shots, PLEASE leave a comment. If I get some good ones, I will post them at some point in the next few days so everyone can benefit, ok? That way, everyone can take great holiday shots!!!!

With that said, here are the pics of our tree. We actually have two trees, a big one in the family room that houses all the special ornaments we've collected throughout the years, and a small one in our living room, that sits on a tabletop and that is decorated differently each year depending on my mood. I've decided I am going to go with a bird theme next year on this small tree, cuz you all know how I love birds (remember my obsession with the Hero Arts bird stamps?). So I bought three bird ornaments this year to put on this tree to start me off! They are so cute! You'll see one of these birds in a picture below.

This is the shot that turned out the best.....you'll find the bird in the bottom left hand corner!

The coloring on the shot below is all wrong. That great big, long ornament should really be LIME GREEN!

  4. Cute card, love the pics of your tree. We're still waiting on our TV repair guy to redeliver our TV before we put up the tree, because there's no way they could get that massive beast of a TV into the family room once the tree is up. Love your cute new watermark, by the way!
