I just have a minute to post this morning because I have to get moving for BSF. But I wanted to share this card with you that I made last night for my brother and sister-in-law.
Yesterday they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary! I can hardly believe it. I knew I had to make them a traditional silver card, but come on, they're really too young to be celebrating a "silver wedding anniversary"!!!! That's for old people, like our parents...not young, hip people like Chris and Di. (actually, my parents just celebrated their 50th a few summers ago!!!) So, I stuck with the traditional silver, but I added a few cute little birdies to make it hip!
The silver rick-rack you see on the card is vintage, I got it in a box of sewing stuff I bought at a flea market a few years ago. I loved it so I added a bit of it to their card. I like the idea of a 25th wedding anniversary card having something vintage on it! The chipboard numbers were embossed with silver embossing powder. I've never tried that before. Fun! Because Chris and Di are a couple of love birds--they really do have a wonderful marriage, I took out my little Hero Arts birds and have them flying with a banner that says "love birds"! I think the birds brought the "25th wedding anniversary card" into the 21st century, don't you?
Happy Anniversary Chris & Di! Congratulations!
Hugs,
Amy
What a gorgeous card! The silver ric-rac really adds a special touch. Enjoy your class today; prayers that you & the ladies will be a blessing to each other. (I have 5 ladies travelling, so mine will be a bit small!)

Ha! God has is own way of humbling us - doesn't He? My brother and sil celebrated 25 on the 16th. I, like you, made them a card, except mine just wasn't finished when I was. ??? I did not snap a picture, I was content to just get it in the mail on time. I knew in my heart I could have improved on it but no, in my rush rush rush to get it in the mail, I stamped and dropped it as I went into the office on Monday. Then whal lah, 2 days later you post your beautiful work of art! Thanks for the inspiration. And to think, some doubt God's sense of humor. :o)

ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I love those birdies!
ReplyDeleteLove this, Amy.
