Whoops

In the hubbub of my crazy week, I forgot about my 2 for 1 Tuesday feature! Bummer! I need an assistant to help me keep track of my life, it's getting seriously out of control! I don't know whether I'm coming or going, it's getting that bad. Calgon, take me away!

Yesterday was an endless day. First BSF, then home to work on my freelance stuff, then pick kids up from after school activities, then head to church to volunteer and attend our stewardship dinner, which was then followed up by communion service and a confirmation meeting. I was sitting near the back of the sanctuary with a girlfriend I hadn't seen since Family Work Week this summer. I'm sorry to say that by that point in the evening, we were both so blasted tired from our day, that we were getting really silly and giggling like the middle school students who were surrounding us! Not cool--we're supposed to be setting the example, not crushing it! It was a blessing to share that time with her though. I miss you Susan!!!!

Speaking of BSF, I'm happy to say that there were 28 new intro class students who came to BSF yesterday morning to register! That means I'll have my own group starting next week. I think I'll get a full 15 women! Woo-hoo! I am so excited! I need to get busy making name tags for everyone now!!

We have been having glorious weather this week! Yesterday it was sunny and in the high 60's. Today it's sunny and will be nearing 70! I LOVE this kind of weather. I could live in a climate with weather like this every single day! Youngest Son has his first official football game tonight at 415pm, and there isn't a better way to watch football than in the cool sunshine I say!

Since the weather is inspiring me so much, it's not a surprise it's inspiring my artwork as well! I can't get enough of the Heidi Grace Harvest paper....I've used so much over the last few weeks. This was a really easy card to whip up, I fall back onto this layout alot when I need to get some cards made quickly. It can be made to look quite different depending on the type of decorative scissor you choose to apply to your main image, and what kind of ribbon you include as well. The main image is from one of my favorite SU sets, Petal Prints. I've used this set over and over and over again and still never tire of it.

The wheat stalk was stamped three times using three different inks (Chestnut Roan, More Mustard, and Cranberry Crisp). The entire image was distressed using Ranger Distress Ink in Tea Stain. The ribbon is from Michael's. It is adhered to the front of the card using dimensional tape. The sentiment is from A Muse. I just love the font used on this sentiment. It's so cool! I use it all the time too!

Well, today is slightly less busy. Just my allergy shots in a few hours, then lunch with one of my radio reps, then home for a bit before the football game. Tonight, I think we'll actually be able to share dinner together around the kitchen table! Yipee!

Have a great day girlfriends!

Hugs,
Amy

Amy, how did you get the decorative edge on the gold layer? Are there decorative scissors like that?

  7. Hi Amy . . . you sure are putting me in the fall mood with your gorgeous blog colors and these beautiful cards you are posting. Paris gave me her Petal Prints stamp set when it retired and after seeing these gorgeous cards you made I am going to have to dig it out. That dp you used goes so well with the stamp set. Thanks for continuing to share such beautiful work and your funny stories with us.

I was wondering what BSF is too.

    Big stamping hugs.
