It's a Julee Day

That's right. Today I'm showcasing a few cards I made all because of my sweet friend Julee (Poetic Artistry). Now, most of you know Julee, how could you not? She's a fabulous designer (and business woman!), an out of this world bingo host, and an all around great girl. I'm so lucky to have had the chance to get to know her this past year, and I feel priviledged that she asked me a few months back to be on her Verve Visual design team. Really....lucky me.

Anyhow, so as to not embarrass her any further, let me tell you why it's Julee Day here today at Heartfelt Greetings. Well, Julee recently kicked off a new feature called Who's Got Mojo Mondays, where she features a new challenge each week and if you've got the mojo going on that day, you participate! Surprisingly, I had a little bit mojo going on this past Monday and decided to play along. This is my card for her challenge....

Two of the papers I used are from We Are Memory Keepers, their Precious Metal Collection. I used two different patterns from the collection, Coppered Out: Jacks, and Coppered Out: Blossoms. The third paper I used is from My Minds Eye, their Tres Jolie collection. Three very bold patterns, whew. A little daring I'd say. I think I'm just prepping myself for Scrap Stash Saturday, coming up in a few days! Anyways, I sewed all the pieces together to follow the sketch, using both a zigzag stitch and a straight stitch. The sentiment is from Edgy Eloquence SU set. It was stamped with ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink in Chestnut Roan. See the small square in Julee's sketch, to the bottom right? My card just did not look right with something square there, so, true to my rebellious nature, I broke the rules and went with a circular feature instead! Sorry Jules. The flower is from the Edgy Eloquence set as well!

The second card I'll show you today is one I made last weekend. That sweet girl Julee sent me this image along with some others in an RAK about a month ago. I just found them under a pile of junk on my desk! I love when this happens...it feels like I'm getting something new all over again! I'm sad to say I can't tell you who makes the images (shame, shame), but I sure love them! The card Julee sent me along with the images used the same flower I used on this card. I also loved how Julee placed the Verve sentiment on her card, so I did it the same way on mine. A shameful case! Everything else on my card is different from hers, but I couldn't not give credit where credit is due! The fabulous designer paper is from Heidi Grace Designs, and I LOVE IT! This paper screams FALL! The pattern is called Harvest Flowers in case you want to go on a hunt for it! I painted the flower using my aqua painter and classic ink (Old Olive, More Mustard and Cranberry Crisp). The sentiment is from Verve Visual. A huge thanks to Julee for sending me these images! I adore them!

Well, it's time to sign off again for the day. Can I just tell you I am SO SORE? SORER than I've EVER BEEN BEFORE? I took a class the other night at the club that busted my butt in more ways than one. I can hardly move, but when I do, I look like I'm 100 years old!!!! The class was called Functional Combo. It's both cardio and muscle building, combined together. The cardio is actually achieved by using weight equipment (balls, bands, weights) and doing 9,000 reps of everything very quickly. The functional part comes in by way of doing moves that you do everyday while go about living your daily life. Lifting, bending, squatting (yes, squatting...thus the butt pain), etc. I literally woke up early this morning and put the heating pad UNDER my butt to help the muscles relax a bit. What a patheticly out of shape person I am!!!! I'll have to seriously rethink whether I'll go back to this instructors class next week. I'll probably still be sore!

Hugs,
Amy

Hi Amy! Great cards! The flower stamp is called Fuchsia from Hero Arts. and although fuchsia usually hangs upside down, I really like what you've (Julie?) did! Have a great day!

I love the papers on both of these cards. But honest to goodness the flowers in the second card knocked my socks off. Well done.

  11. I feel for you in your post workout pain. I once did so many leg presses (or whatever they're called) that I couldn't walk the next day. My inner thighs were jello. And I couldn't feel it at all while I was working out. LOL. Hope you're recuperating. LOVE the cards. That ultra busy flowered paper makes a perfect bg for the second card.
