Some FUN News!

You're gonna have to wait for the fun news though, girlfriends. Gotta do the card stuff first......no cheatin' and reading the end of the post either! LOL. I'm serious!

This is another card I made a few days ago using Beate's sketch and Scenic Route's Laurel line of papers......I'm not going to go into too much detail about today's card because it's pretty much the same as yesterday's card. But, what I DID want to share with you most of all today is about the Paper Accents pearlized paper/cardstock that Julee carries at Verve. I spoke briefly about it yesterday, but in one of the photos of today's card, you can REALLY see this stuff in action!

I swear, it's the coolest paper.

Everything stamps beautifully on it, it doesn't smear like SU's Very Vanilla and Whisper White cardstock does (regardless of the ink you use), and the sparkles show through even when you watercolor something! THAT amazed me the most when I saw the finished product! Just look at this close-up of Mr. Birdy...........LOOK at the sparkle showing up all over his body! That's the paper! Be sure and click on the photo to see it close-up, cuz I'm tellin' ya, you'll be amazed at what you see!

Now, before you go thinking I'm just pimpin' VV products cuz Julee gives me free stamps, I want you to know Julee doesn't even know I'm writing this, and she never ever asked me to pimp this product for her! This girlfriends, is coming from my heart. I love this product, I think YOU'LL love this product. You'll find it difficult to go back to SU's VV and WW cardstock!

Ok, now for the FUN NEWS! I've been dying to share with you one of the uber cool things happening in my crafting world lately, but I wasn't sure I could "spill the beans", so they say. About a month or so ago, I received an email from one of my papercrafting idols, Nathalia Castellon over at Funky Fresh Papier Kreations. I "met" Nathalia at {Caardvarks} during the big 10 Day 10K challenge they had a few months ago. I was emailing my creations to {Caardvarks} on a daily basis (annoyingly so, I think:)), and through that, received a few emails back from Nathalia because she is on the {Caardvarks} design team. Her work is amazing, so you can imagine my surprise when I got a email from Nathalia inviting ME....little ol' ME....to be a GUEST DESIGNER for one of their challenges in September! Uh, I'm sure you can imagine that it only took me less than a nanosecond to say YES!

So, yesterday, I got an AMAZING stash of goodies to start creatin'! The sponsor of the challenge I'll be involved with is FRANCES MEYER....and let me tell you, are they ever generous folks! Wow, I'll be able to create a whole bunch of fun stuff with the goodies they sent the design team (and me:))! Now, I'm sure you know that I can't tell you yet exactly WHAT the challenge will involve, but believe me, you'll be challenged! I certainly will be. I'm totally out of my comfort zone using some of these amazing products, but isn't that what we ALL need every now and again.....someone to push us beyond our areas of comfort? Beyond our limits? I sure think so. A special thanks to Nathalia and {Caardvarks} (Jen and Sarah) for this amazing opportunity to showcase what I can do!
