Heroes in the Hood--"Sisterhood"

There are so many fun things happening in my little crafty world lately. Yesterday I announced that I was invited to be a September guest designer on one of my favorite challenge sites, {Caardvarks}. Today, I am announcing, with joy and excitement (no, I'm NOT pregnant!), that I'm officially a member of the "Hood"! The "Sisterhood", that is!

I am pleased as punch to introduce to you Terri Conrad, of Terri Conrad Designs. Terri is the genius designer behind Webster's Pages(remember, I voted Webster's as My New Favorite Paper when I first saw it at CHA this summer!). For many years, Terri has been inspired by the courageous stories and acts of heroism by the women she has had the pleasure of meeting during her many travels (whether she traveled out to the country or just down to the grocery store). Heroes in the Hood--"Sisterhood" is Terri's heartfelt attempt at bringing all of us together with a means by which to share these stories, thereby encouraging one another.

We all probably have one or two special woman in our lives who have encouraged us and who, just by virtue of how they live (or lived) their life, inspire us to be all that we can be. "Heroes in the Hood--Sisterhood", is your opportunity to honor that special women in your life, via a scrapbook layout, or any mixed media art--and have your story and artwork featured on her blog. Terri will devote each Monday to this special Sisterhood endeavour. I was humbled and honored when Terri invited me to participate in this amazing Sisterhood journey with her a few weeks ago. I'm still pinching myself that God brought this amazing woman into my life. She, like me, lives with her heart on her sleeve, and is amazingly devoted to loving and helping others, especially women. How can you not be touched by such a person? So, without further ado, I am honored to tell you that my scrabook layout, honoring my Mom (my "She-roe"), is Terri's very first featured layout today! Please head on over to Terri's blog and read for yourself WHY my Mom is such an amazing woman and why I chose her as my Hero. Here's a sneak peak at my layout....

Don't let another minute go by without honoring that special woman in your life. If you haven't scrapbooked in a while, this is your opportunity to get back to it. My layout is probably the first 12x12 page I've done in more than 2 years! Please don't let that hold you back--if you make cards, creating a scrapbook page isn't that much further of a stretch! I want all of you, my special blog friends, to become, along with me, Sisters of the Hood. Get started on your special story--via a scrapbook layout or other mixed media art--today. To learn more about Heroes in the Hood--"Sisterhood" project, click on the link I've provided. I've got the Sisterhood icon on my sidebar, but it's not linked yet. I'm in the process of figuring out how to do that (I can scrap, but I'm not very computer literate!), and when I do get it figured out, clicking on the icon will eventually take you directly to Terri's site.

Have a wonderful day!
