Some RAK's

Hi again! I received a few BRAK's this week!! I wanted to share them with you cuz they are beautiful and I want to say THANKS to the gals that sent them to me. It made my day!

The first one is a from Shelly Hopps (aka PIXEGIRL on SCS), and is it ever beautiful! I have never seen or made a card with quilling on it, and boy, is it ever cool! Look at this fabulous quilled flower! I have no idea how it's done, but I think I might be doing some research soon so I can give it a try! Thank you Shelly, for the BRAK!

The second card I received is from Deb Albright @ Life Out of the Shell (Turtle Chronicles). Deb used her Cuttlebug swirl folder to make it look like the sea for this cute little sea horse! I love the pretty colors she used, they definitely remind me of the sea! Thank you Deb! Be sure and give her blog a visit!

Yesterday was SUCH a FAB mail day! First of all, I got a Priority Mail package from my SIL in VA....she was garage saleing and found someone selling their stamps!!! Woo-hoo!!! She sent me 5 sets of stamps....they're older, but unused! I was so excited! They are: God Bless America, Love Ya!, A Tree for All Seasons, Just for Fun, and my favorite, Gifted Glove! Can you believe it? Thanks Jayne! THEN.......I got some fun blog candy from Julee at Poetic Artistry! I was one of the winners of a sketch contest she had a few weeks ago, so Julee sent me a Cats Pajamas stamp....Dog & Flower! Also, she she sent some really fun Basic Grey chipboard mini monograms! The best part of the whole shebang was the card she included with the candy....isn't this fabulous---this is the card she made using one of my Sunday sketches! It looks so awesome IRL. I need to find out how she got her distressing to look so good. Mine never looks like that. And the papers she used to paper piece the flower...rockin'! Thanks Julee! Hugs!

Well, I am going to spin around in my chair here and start stamping some stuff. I need to come up with a sketch for tomorrow!

Oh, I forgot, I've got one more thing.....Colleen at Distinctive Touches threw out a challege to Julee and me a few days ago to follow her sketch challenge to the T....(like, I think she thinks we're "Rule Rebels" or somethin'), no changing ANYTHING on the sketch at all. Well, here's my card. I followed the rules and everything. Although, I'll let you in on a little secret....I actually made another one right before I made this one, and I actually made it WRONG. I used image stamps for the center panel. It was all done and I was so proud of myself till I reread the instructions again, and gol' darnit, I had gone and altered the sketch without even trying! I HATE when then happens:)!

Well, I've got to run. I started this post about 1p, but then had to run to my MIL's to help plant her flowers. We just got home and it's now 7pm. And I'm one sore mama. My lower back is killing me from all the bending over. I think I'm going to go claim the couch tonight. Take care!

  3. That quilling looks so cool! I tried doing it for about 5 minutes during VSN last weekend, but my hands just couldn't take it. The paper wouldn't stay on the end of my needle. A complete disaster! Glad you got your package. You are such a great photographer, the photo looks amazing! Sounds like you got some fun new sets to play with, too. I recieved your card and the bird images today, too. Thanks so much!

  4. Oh, by the way, I love your challenge card too! Did you print that sentiment, or is it a stamp?

These are some great RAKS...the quilling is sooooo cool! Your challenge card is wonderful. I like how you combined two different stamps to create your background. And I LOVE brown and red for masculine cards. Thanks for playing!
