A Different Sketch Challenge!

This is the card I made for Julee's sketch challenge (Poetic Artistry)! I've never done someone else's sketches before (besides the ones at SCS), so I thought I'd give it a try. It was sort of nice not to have to think one up for a change:)!!

I started out with a piece of Apricot Appeal. It was the perfect compliment to my new Crate Paper (Baby Bee Collection/Pollen & Little One)! This must be a baby collection? I don't know, it doesn't look baby-ish to me...does anyone know for sure?

I wanted to change things up a little bit and not follow Julee's sketch exactly. I know, always a rebel. There's one in every crowd, isn't there? I made this and THEN went back to her blog to review the instructions and she clearly states #1. Do not flip the sketch and #2. Top panel must be circular in shape. Well, my flower is circular in shape, but it wasn't technically a circle. I sent it to Julee anyways, and she gave me the ok....thanks Julee!!!!! Whew.

Again, I wanted to shake things up a tiny bit more, so in the left bottom part of the card, where Julee wanted three elements, I chose to use a sentiment, cut up into three words!!! I thought that was so smart of me:)!!!!!! I added a green and white ribbon horizontally across the card in the middle. I got the ribbon from Michelle at Stamper's Dream as part of some blog candy that I won! She is such a sweetie. She's opened her own online store (Stamper's Dream Stamps), so be sure and visit her and see what she's got. I will definitely be ordering from her sometime soon! I need to get a thank you card out to her pronto, I'm so tardy. If you are reading this Michelle, thank you so much for all the fun stuff! You were so generous! I will get a thank you card out to you pronto!!!!

Anyways, that's how this card was born. As an answer to a Julee's sketch challenge. I wonder if I'll win? There's so much great talent out there, I doubt it, but it sure was fun to try. I'm learning that you have to put yourself out there in order for anything to happen.

I found out today that I was chosen to be a part of the Rubber Stamping Fun Stamp Review Program. I applied last week and was chosen, along with many other great stampers, to be part of a team that receives free stamps in exchange for honest feedback regarding their products. It is sort of like a Beta program. We'll receive stamps from them, try them out, and then give our feedback. They'll use the feedback to improve/modify the product if necessary, and then roll the stamps out to the public!!! It's so exciting to be a part of a company so focused on stampers and what makes them happy! That's about all I know for now. When I get the stamps, I'll be sharing with you my thoughts and feelings on them, and will ask you for feeback as well. So, you'll be participating right along side of me. Sound fun? Let's do it!!! Bring on the rubbah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
