I thought I'd show you another square card I made recently. Yep, I'm back to square cards and back to Hero Arts stamps! I haven't shown you anything using my favorite stamp for awhile, so I thought it was time to bring it back.
Now that I'm a sewing guru, I think I might bring this card upstairs and give it a whirl around the sewing machine. I think it'd be even cuter if I did!
The designer paper I chose is, of course, from Basic Grey's Perhaps collection. I'm using the small 6x6 sheets that I bought from Michelle (Twisted Chick Creations). Speaking of Michelle, have you been to her blog to see her newest grouping of cards yet? My jaw dropped to the floor last night the minute I saw them. Oh my Lord, this girl is SO talented! Wouldn't you love to be a little fly on the wall in HER stamp studio!!! Just think of what we could learn from her!!!
I stamped the Hero Arts image on a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock in Old Olive. I stamped the image again and then watercolored four of the leaves in coordinating colors, cut them out and mounted them on top of the other image. This gives the card some dimension. The center of the flower is a large antique brass brad. The flower image is mounted on a piece of Old Olive cardstock and then the whole thing is attached to the front of the card with foam tape. The sentiment is one of the $1 stamps from Michaels, stamped in Rose Red and mounted on Rose Red cardstock. I doodled around both images with an Old Olive marker for a little punch. A few ribbon loops were added at the last minute!
Well, I hope you are all enjoying the new blog! I've had a few people mention it was somewhat hard to read, so I changed the font to be black instead of brown, and that seems to have helped a bit. I work on a laptop, so I need to go upstairs to our PC to see how it looks on that monitor. Sometimes the colors are a bit brighter on the PC monitor. Hopefully I'm not blowing you guys out with too much color!!! If it's still hard to read, will you let me know?
Did any of you watch Idol last night? OMG. Gina was ousted this week and Sanjya wasn't. COME ON. This isn't funny anymore. She is CLEARLY a hundred times better than Sanjya. If the whole Howard Stern theory is true (that he is encouraging all of his listeners to call in and vote for the worst contestant, Sanjya, to screw AI over) then AI needs to rethink the their voting process. IMO, it should be one vote per phone number. This "vote as many times as you want" stuff is for the birds! I don't know about you, but AI is really getting boring. This group of contestants is not all that great. Song choices are boring. Talent is basically pretty average. None of them scream "SUPERSTAR" to me, but that's just my opinion. They just need to get rid of Sanjya. Pronto.

I could not agree more! Every week here at my house we say "Sanjaya better get kicked off this week!" He should have been the first one gone. I hadn't heard the Howard Stern theory, but something is up that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteCute card too! LOL
Oh, you used that great HA stamp again -- love that stamp! Great card Amy -- love how colorful it is!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more about Sanjaya . . . how in the holy hannah-bananas has he made it this far?!?! I've heard the Howard Stern thing, in fact, on our local news they were doing a poll on Tuesday night about who to vote for and people were actually saying that they were voting for Sanjaya 'cause of Howard Stern. Ugh, it's SO disheartening! Yep, AI is for sure having a boring year -- glad to know it's not just me thinkin' it!
Love the card! Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteBright & Cheery card & also blog banner. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I watched & yes it's disgusting the Sanjaya is still there. What about Haley (she can sing better then Sanjaya) but not as good as others. She's there because she's flaunting her looks. Sad but true. I agree about limiting votes to keep this show more about what it should be.Ida
We all watch the show, but the tweenies (preteen) are the ones who actually vote. Maybe I'll vote one of these days- anybody know how? Have you voted before?
ReplyDeleteI love that Hero Arts stamps. It has become one of my favorites. Of course, I would be embarassed to tell you how many favorite stamps I have! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove your card!
