fly away home.......
These three colors together have got to be one of my all time favorites combinations. This card was totally inspired by this fabulous designer paper by Imaginisce (the pattern is called Black Tie Optional) that I found at Archiver's recently. Isn't it amazing? The black with white flowers is one side, the white with black flowers is the other side of the paper. I knew the paper would look fabulous on red cardstock, so that's what I put it on. Real Red to be exact. I used my new black and white gingham ribbon from Ribbon's and Bows, Oh My! to separate the white and black paper. The flower stamp is from Hampton Art Stamps. I bought it at Michael's. I stamped the flower in black Staz-on on Whisper White cardstock and then watercolored the blossom with Real Red ink, and the leaves with Certainly Celery. I think the happy birthday sentiment is from Savvy Stamps. My friend Lue, who's got everything in her stamp room that you can think of, loaned me the adorable ladybug and the red gingham ribbon to finish the card off. Doesn't this card just scream SPRING??????????
Speaking of spring, today it's supposed to be 56 degrees here! Love this kind of weather. The snow is melting, melting, melting away, much to the chagrin of my youngest. I am so ready to see the leaves start budding and for the flowers to start peeking out from the earth below. This is probably my most favorite season of all--spring is a sign of new life and new beginnings, and who doesn't love new life and new beginnings?
Be sure to check out Craft Critique today to read the bio of our newest reporter.....Cindy Keery! A gracious welcome to her. Cindy is such a sweetie and will be a great addition to the team! Cindy is also in the process of making a new watermark for me, so if you want one too, be sure and contact her and tell her what you're looking for. Hopefully I'll be debuting my new watermark later this week!
Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteOMG...what an adorable card. I love the bug center for your flower! And you are right about that color combination...it ROCKS! Very nice card indeed.
ReplyDeleteSuper creation!
ReplyDeleteDuhhh! It took me forever to find the ladybug! I'm wondering why it's called ladybug when all I could see was the flower! Hello! I found it finally! Very cute :) I LOVE all those little red things... ladybugs, apples, strawberries & cherries!
ReplyDeleteCindy made me a watermark too and I love it but can't figure it out for the life of me - so sad! There's even detailed directions to follow! Maybe I should just delete this entry and not admit to everything - haha!
Such a fantastic card! Love the red gingham on the side and the patterned paper. Super job putting this together!
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible card! Love it. When you figure out how to merge you watermark please do share the directions with the rest of us techno-challenged stampers. Thanks!
