Hero Art Rocks

Once again I just typed today's post and it went away with an error message. Grr. What the heck is up with that?

Anyways, have I told you lately that Hero Art stamps ROCK this season? I was lucky enough to have found this leaf stamp at Archivers a week ago. I love it! It's sleek and simple, all at the same time! I thought it would be perfect for any card, from sympathy to celebration, so I made up a card for each just to show you how easily some stamps can fit the bill for anything you might want to use it for. That can't be said for ALL stamps, can it?

For both cards, I used Old Olive cardstock and the same designer paper by American Craft. The only thing I did differently with the stamp is change the background color of the leaf to blue for the sympathy card. I think blue is a more soothing color, which might be a bit more appropriate for a sympathy card than the yellow I used for the "It's Your Day" card. Be mindful of choosing the best colors for sympathy cards. While orange and pink together might be perfect for a birthday card, they would appear a bit too "loud" and "happy" for a sympathy card. I think I'll be using the Hero Arts leaf stamp alot in the upcoming months! By the way, in case you want to find this stamp for yourself, it is called Window Leaves.

I want to share a card with you made by my blogger friend Charmaine (Oodabug Alley). She participated in yesterday's Super Sketch Sunday, and made this beautiful card for her 10 year old niece! Isn't it beautiful? Thanks so much to Charmaine for playing along on Sketch #8, and more importantly, for sharing it with us!

On a similar note, I was lucky enough last week to receive a beautiful RAK from Beate (Fresh & Fun)! This woman is so generous--she mails out tons of RAKs! The card she sent me is her interpretation of Sketch #7 from last week. She thought it only appropriate that since this was the first card she made using one of my sketches, she thought I should have it! Awwwww, isn't that sweet? Thanks Beate! I know you're in Texas right now, but hopefully you've highjacked someone's computer to check in with all your favorite blogs!

Well, that's it for today. Have a wonderful day....it's supposed to be mid 70's today! Woo-hoo!

p.s. Be sure and click on the Craft Critique icon above on the right. I wrote today's piece on adhesives.
