I am hanging out at home tonight, the house is peaceful. The boys are gone at confirmation and church choir, so I'm here alone. It was a perfect time to update the blog.
Today was not very productive in the stamping arena. It was a day filled with appts and errands. I got my allergy shots this afternoon, and boy, do my arms hurt. Am I the only one who's arms hurt after their shots? We can't figure out why mine hurt so much sometimes, but it's bad enough that everytime I move my arms they hurt. The boys can't even hug me sometimes because it's so painful. They haven't hurt for awhile, so I'm not sure why this time they hurt. Maybe the dose is getting higher? I've been getting these shots for about 8 months now, so I'll be interested to see if they've worked once spring rolls around. Spring is my worst season. Budding allergies. Ahhh-choo!
Speaking of spring, doesn't this card just scream spring?
The bird is one of the $1 Rhonna Farrer stamps from Joann's. I painted inside the birdy with my H20's, which I haven't used for awhile. Love the sparkly look of the h2o paints. The flower is also a $1 Rhonna stamp. The images stamp well, although I don't think acrylic stamps will ever compare with rubber stamps. I my opinion, though, they are good enough! And I've found that these stamps are better than the average acrylic stamps you can buy out there. Supplies: Passion Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock, H20 paints, designer paper: unknown; ink: Basic Black, Accessories: rickrack, extra large circle brad.
This next card is sort of different, don't you think?
I first took a large floral paper and layered that onto Very Vanilla. Then I took a friendship paper (with definitions), and layered that on top of the floral paper at an angle. The stamped image of the boy and girl is from Paperbag Studios, and I actually cut the boy and girl out of a larger image. I mounted the image with foam tape and put it in the corner. I used the Cuttlebug to cut out an oval tag and stamped it with "wonderful" from SU Warm Words set, and attached it to the card with taupe organza ribbon. Then I took the word "friend" from another stamp. It's actually just one word of a large saying. I stamped that on Very Vanilla and then punched it out with the window punch. I attached "friend" to the card with silver cording wrapped around the organza ribbon. Really different for me. But I love how it turned out. When looking at it IRL, it looks three dimensional!
Well, I'm going to sign off. My arms hurt stretched out typing this entry. I am hoping to stamp some tonight, so I'll post one of those cards tomorrow.

Ouch on the allergy shots! Hope you're feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the spring-ish card. It is anything but spring here today. This is a great reminder that spring WILL come!
