new rubbah!!

Christmas came early for me!!! Yesterday I got my newest stamp set, Carte Postale, and I love it! This was the first card I made with it when I took it out to play yesterday.
There are SO many beautiful cards at SCS with this set that it intimidates me to try it! I want mine to be as beautiful as all the ones I see there! I am not a big Cool Caribbean gal, but wanted to stretch myself, so I went to the Color Combos website and looked for other colors to pair with CC. Wow, what a fabulous resource this website is. I don't know who created it, but KUDOS to whoever put so much time and effort into it! After a while, I decided to use Cool Caribbean, Old Olive (a perennial favorite of mine), and Perfect Plum. I muddied up the brightness of Cool Caribbean by stamping it with the Linen BG stamp and ColorBox Fluid Chalk ink in Chestnut Roan(if you don't have this brand/color ink already, run out and get it, it's fan-tab-ulous!), which made CC easier for me to work with. The card looks so elegant IRL, which I didn't expect would happen with Cool Caribbean. I'm going to have to use the Color Combo sight again to come up with more combinations I'm not so comfortable working with.

On a side note, I tried to do a little shopping today. Last night as I was wrapping presents, in horror I realized there were more "packages" for my oldest son (who, basically, was told his gift this year was his trip to Pasadena) than for my younger son, who only had FOUR to his brother's 10. Yikes. Eric's gifts aren't valued as much as Scott's, but try telling that to a 12 year old. More gifts is more gifts. Regardless of cost. At least that's how I think he thinks! So, today I went out and bought a few more small, inexpensive gifts for Scott to open. It was such a ZOO out there. I need to go back out tonight and get a few more things for my hubby, and then that should be it. I hope to share a few more cards with you this weekend, but with all the craziness of the holidays, I might not get to it. So, in case I can't post again before Christmas, I want to wish ALL of you the happiest of holidays. Enjoy your loved ones. Give them all a great big hug. Tell them you love them. And believe them when they tell you they love you. This is the greatest gift of all. The love of family. Without them, we are nothing. God Bless!

Amy
