Well, we survived our very first art fair!!!! Yippee! Saturday started very early, as we had a half hour drive, and because we needed to set up our display since we didn't do it Friday. We got there right about 7a, and started to unload the car and bring it down the stairs to the church gym where our table was. As we were walking down the stairs with our first load, Lue missed the last step and went flying across the floor!!!! Oh my Lord. The ironic part of this is that only moments before, Lue had found a penny and picked it up. I said something to her like "looks like we're gonna have a good day!", or something like that. Looks like I spoke too soon??? Anyways, back to the fair. Last Tuesday, we raided Lue's house looking for all sorts of fun stuff that we could use to hold cards on our display table. We wanted our display to be nice and homey, and most importantly, inviting. So, what do you think? This was a table drawer that we used to store cards in, isn't that a good idea? I LOVED our table! We got so many nice compliments on it! Unfortunately, there were two other women at the fair who sold handmade cards, so we were BUMMED! We were going to charge $3 per card, but the other two tables were selling for $2.50, so we needed to drop our rates.
Lue sold a bunch of cards that were really old. We had a "Bargain Basket" full of cards that were only a $1. The bad news is that most of the older ladies bought cards from this basket instead of from our premium selection! It's a great way to get rid of unwanted old cards that you can't stand looking at anymore, but it might then sabatoge our ability to sell the good cards! We are going to do it again this weekend, but I think the crowd is going to be a bit younger, so they may be willing to drop the extra money for a premium card. All in all, we had a great time, and we were thankful we were able to get a table and sell our cards. I'll let you know how this Saturday goes after it's over.
In the end, I didn't sell all THAT many cards. The good news is that our table DEFINITELY had the most traffic and the best cards. We grossed about $365 that day, which isn't too bad.

Congratulations on a successful craft fair! Your table looked beautiful and your sales were great. One time at a craft fair I sold 2 cards --- so from my perspective, you did GREAT!!
