Took One for the Team

Since you all said you wanted me to keep blogging even if I didn't have any cards to show you, I'll share with you what mini crisis took up a good chunk of my time this past week.....

Yep, that's a cast you see on Youngest Son's left hand. Diagnosis: Buckle fracture of the first metacarpal. Baseball season: Over. Actually, it's not that bad of an injury. Cast will be on at least 2 weeks, and typically it takes 3-4 weeks to fully heal. Don't you love the black and red cast? Those are his school colors, and it was important to him to reflect his love for his team by doing something cool with the cast! After all, he took one for the team on this deal. He was catching, there was a big play at home, and the runner crashed into this gloved hand. Youngest Son held onto the ball and the runner was: OUT!!! Yes! Gotta love that, don't you? It was a key play in the game and secured us the win!

Well, have a great day....I am headed over to Lue's house soon to make our graduating seniors their Senior Posters! Does anyone else have to make senior posters for their kids?

Hugs,

Amy

  1. You're so cute, Amy. I'm so glad to see you've continued blogging. I am however, sorry to see your youngest son sustain the wrist injury. What a trooper he is! Congratulate him for me on his team spirit and for esecuring the team's big win.

  2. Oh Amy! so sorry your son got hurt! I was so saddened when I read last week that you weren't sure you were going to keep your blog going. We've all come to know and love you.. not just for your incredible creations, but for your strong FAITH, your WONDERFUL FAMILY, the trials and tribulations you've had to endure and how you've never given up your faith in God. I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't come to your blog just to see what you've made, but to see how GOD has been working in your life. You're such an inspiration!!!! KEEP BLOGGING MY FRIEND and if you want to throw in a card once in awhile... that's fine too! P.S. I lost my first post... so if this shows up twice.. sorry! Just delete one of the entries!

Hope he heals up soon. That would have been a great play to see in person.

  5. Great job in winning the game while taking a bad turn. Those are moments that make you one proud momma.
Have fun making banners. My sons aren't even in school yet so I have no clue but I do know that when "I" was graduating we didn't have banners.
