Oh man, I haven't picked up a stamp in days (like 15)! I haven't had a second to even glance at the area I where I make my cards. Lately, I walk in to my office, sit at my computer and start working on my freelance stuff, and that's about it. If I'm really being honest though, I haven't much wanted to stamp lately.

I can't decide if it's because I'm too busy to be creative right now so then I can't sit down to make a card. Or, if it's because I'm overwhelmed by all the Valentines cards and Easter cards I'm seeing out there in blogland and it's scaring me away. Because my mind is SOOOOO not thinking about Valentine's Day or Easter at this juncture. I can't believe some have already moved on from Christmas and it's still a week and a half away! It's sort of like seeing all the Christmas decorations up at Target by the end of September! What happened to New Years? What happened to Martin Luther King Day (hey, it's a stretch, but we could make cards celebrating MLK Day, couldn't we?). Ok, I'll stop with the sarcasm. It's just....can't we enjoy the holiday that's HERE instead of moving on to the next? I mean, Christ hasn't even been BORN yet (Christmas), and we're already seeing cards announcing His resurrection (Easter)!!!! Please make the world slow down!!!! As beautiful and sweet are the cards I'm seeing for Valentine's Day and Easter are, my mind just isn't there yet. I'm going to wallow in Christmas for awhile, ok?

Which, in a long, roundabout way, finally leads me to the Christmas card I am showing you today. Obviously, since I haven't stamped in DAYS, this card must have been made way back in the beginning of December when life wasn't so crazy for me. And since I made it so long ago, I don't remember who makes the paper I used. I think it might be made by Fancy Pants. I DO know that I created the sentiment using my new JustRite Rectangle Stamper! That much I CAN remember! It was the very first time I used a rectangle stamper from JustRite, and I thought it was so much fun. I used two different fonts to create the sentiment...Curlz and Times New Roman. I didn't want to cover up all the beautiful paper so I placed the sentiment oddly at the top of the card, which I don't normally do, but I like how it turned out. The star is chipboard, and the snowflake is covered in Diamond Dust. Did I ever tell you that I finally bought a BIG snowflake punch???? I just haven't used it yet!

Well, I've got to run. I've got a holiday lunch at work today that I've still got to cook for. We are also exchanging white elephant gifts, which up until the last minute last night I had nothing. We got rid of a bunch of junk this summer, so I don't have a lot of STUFF laying around that I can pawn off on someone else. Finally, late last night I found something. One man's trash is another man's treasure....let me leave it at that.

Holiday Hugs,

Amy

  2. Ugh! I am so with you about the holidays moving so fast. I think that happens to me too because I am a SU Demo, and I am always making holiday cards 1-2 months in advance of the holiday, ya know? So, because so many bloggers submit their cards for publication, they are always waaayyyy ahead. It tires me out, be to honest. I think the cards are awesome, but I just don't spend much time looking because I want to enjoy the moments I have right now.

Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

    Love,

I got a big snowflake punch too! I totally agree with you that while the small one from Martha is nice, the big one is going to come in handy too! :)
