Fancy That

This card was made with a piece of Basic Grey scrap paper that I've had in my stash for quite a while. I think the colors and pattern is so beautiful. Brown and pink is one of my favorite color combinations!

Recently across blogland, people are pulling out their small Cuttlebug embossing folders and using them again. I haven't used mine too much, so I took one out the other day to see what I could come up with. These little embossed images really make card-making easy, did you know that? Stick your paper in, trim it up close, and then mat it on some coordinating paper. On mine, I rubbed a little bit of Ranger Distress Ink on it to make the image pop. There's nothing fancy about the creation of this card, but the final result sure is fancy, isn't it? This layout makes mass production easy!

Well, I'm happy to report that my first day of work went really well. We focused on learning the appointment software. The time went so fast. After work I stopped and voted and it took me all of 5 minutes to walk in the door, check in, get my ballot, vote, and walk back to my car. That's the benefit of voting in the middle of the day as opposed to doing it before work or after work when the majority of the work force has to vote. We watched a little bit of the election coverage last night. I thought Senator McCain's concession speech was one of the best speeches I've ever heard a politician speak. It was so sincere and heartfelt and I truely believed every word he said. That's amazing. I don't often get moved by "politician speak". In fact, it's not often I believe anything a politician says. lol! I was too tired to wait up to President-elect Obama speak, so I'll have to watch the morning news programs to hear some of that.

Well, I hope you have a great day. And don't forget to reach for those scraps today, you'll be happy you did!

Hugs,
Amy

I do fancy that card, it is adorable. So glad your first day went well. I worked most of my life and thought I would be a mess if I ever had to stay home. I have not worked since I married 5 years ago and now i think I would be a mess if I had to return to work!!

    Very nice card.

Recently, I sorted through all the scrap pieces of solid colored sheets and now am trying to decide the best way to store the scrap DP.
As you said, I should use the scraps.

  5. I'm still loving your scrap cards. This one is elegant. You could make some nice Christmas cards that way by changing the colors.

I'm glad to hear your first day went well. Are you keeping up with your freelance buying okay?
