ETA: Voting is now open!!!!
Well, today marks the first day of the JustRite Championship Finals! Nine finalists have created brand new projects for you to vote on. I'm happy to say that I am one of those nine finalists! Woo-hoo! The rest of the finalists are amazingly talented women and I cannot WAIT to see their new projects!
The contest should go live today between 10a-12n central time. Head on over to the JustRite blog to cast your vote for one of the nine finalists. I would love to say "vote for me", but this time, I'm leaving it up to you--if you like my project, vote for it, if you like someone ele's project more, vote for them! I'm letting you off the hook! No begging from me this time, LOL! We all want votes to be based on overall creativity and execution rather than how "popular" we are in the blogging world. With that said....
I am SOOOO excited to share my new JustRite projects with you! I had a blast making them. For my non-card project, I made a wine gift bag and a tag for a bottle of wine. Here is the photo of the two together....
The bag was super easy! I purchased it at Micheal's. I stamped the entire bag with my SU Polka Dot backgrounder and Whisper White craft ink. A piece of designer paper and a few scallops made the perfect background for the "Wine" monogram I made with my JustRite Monogram Stamper.
Of course, I couldn't leave the wine bottle "nekkid" after the gift bag looked so sweet, so I got busy on making the wine bottle a pretty little outfit of it's own! Using my rectangle Nesties, I made a tag base out of the same designer paper as I used on the gift bag. I remembered that I had an Emerson stamp (American Art Stamps)featuring two women drinking wine together. So I stamped that at the bottom of a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I colored them with my Copics. I used my JustRite Stamper to make a personalized lable that said "May Your Glass Always Be Half Full". The wine glass I colored and placed in the middle of my personalized label was drawn by hand....by me!!! Ha! Don't be asking me to start my own line of stamps now that you know I'm an artist, ok....LOL!!!! Although it's cute, I must be honest and tell you it took me about 100 times to draw that little wine glass! I SOOOOO cannot draw, but for some reason, I was able to draw something that somewhat resembled what I wanted it to when I tried!!!! Check out the hand-beaded hanger I made for my wine tag...it adds soooooo much class and elegance to the tag, doesn't it?
For my card, I wanted to go all out. I made it so it could also hang off the bottle if you wanted it to, but it could also be put in an envelope (albeit a LARGER envelope) if you wanted to do that instead. I used the typical folded card, but the only difference is that I made a beaded hanger for it. I also beaded the Nestie flap I adhered to the front of the card. Do you see it? I threaded a wire through tiny punched holes and before I threaded it into the next hole, I put some beads on the wire. I made another personalized lable with my JustRite Monogram Stamper that says "Good Wine, Good Food, Good Friends". Again, I drew another wine glass and colored it with my Copics. The Nestie flap actually opens and inside I stamped "Thanks So Much".
Here's what it looks like hanging off the bottle if you didn't want to put it in an envelope....
Well, I hope you enjoyed my JustRite projects today! Like I said, I had so much fun making them. I would love to do well in the voting contest, but even if I don't, having this card, tag, and bag to give as a gift to someone else makes it all worth it.
