Little Ladybug

I love ladybugs and just haven't played with them much this past year. Last year at this time, I was big into ladybugs.

It was fun to play with them again once I got the Bugs and Blooms clear stamps by Memory Box. I got them from Stamper's Dream online store (you know the store, it's run by the sweet Michelle Rogers....). Anyways, the set is FILLED with what else....bugs and blooms! Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. Although, do you really consider ladybugs BUGS? I suppose, since they've got the word BUG in their name, LOL. But they certainly aren't what I would consider a scary bug (except when they are in fact asian beetles and they overtake your home in droves....then they're scary!!!)
I've had a box of pre-made cards sitting in my room for forever! I decided to pull one out and use it to make this ladybug card. The cards are pre-embossed, this one had pre-embossed polka dots. I colored over each embossed polka dot with a red Copic marker, and then put a small black dot in the center of each circle. Then I cut a red square with Real Red cardstock and matted it with basic black cardstock. The ladybug was stamped on a piece of red designer paper, if you can believe it. I just embelled the spots on the ladybug a bit with my white uniball marker. I cut the body of the ladybug out and mounted it back on the main image using dimensional tape.

The sentiment "Hello" comes from my tiny little Hero Arts clear stamp set, which I also got from Stamper's Dream. These sets are TINY, only 2.5"x4". The sentiment fit perfectly inside the 1" circle punch. I attached the sentiment to the ribbon using a safety pin.
This was such a fun card to make! I hope you enjoyed it!
Hugs,
Amy
