It's Good to Be Home

I arrived safely back in Minneapolis yesterday afternoon! Despite how nice it is to get away time to time, it always feels so much better coming back to the comfort and familiarity of your own home, isn't it?

I had a good time visiting my SIL and BIL. Ken is doing pretty well, given the situation. He is experiencing some bone pain, but hasn't gotten "sick" from the chemo yet this round, which is great. He's gone to work most days, and I think from this point out, he'll start feeling better until the next treatment. He has a MRI today, and a CT scan on Monday, and then they will meet with the dr. on Wednesday to see how the cancer is responding to treatment. Best possible scenario is that the tumors have shrunk or stayed the same.

Fourteen years ago today I gave birth to my youngest son Scott! He is so funny, he gets so excited about his birthdays...still! He woke up with a silly grin on his face this morning that was so precious. His dad is bringing him out for breakfast before school today because he is leaving to go up to our church camp to put the docks in the water this morning. It's something he does every May with his buddies. Since hubby won't be here tonight, he decided to take Scott out for a big breakfast to celebrate with him instead. I think I am going to surprise him and bring some lunch to him at school today. And then tonight he's requested steak for dinner. I have not gotten him one birthday present yet since I've been gone for a week. Needless to say, today is going to be a busy one running around buying birthday presents and groceries.

I also have to drop off my camera at the camera shop today. The sensor needs to be cleaned! When I take pictures of cards, you can see little (and big) flecks of dust all over the picture, which is giving me a tummy ache. I don't know how long I'll be without it, so posting on my blog is going to be questionable at best I think. Isn't that a bummer? I hope it doesn't take long to get cleaned.

I am still trying to get my sea legs back since returning. I need to figure out what I have to get posted for Verve and figure out what cards I've already taken pictures of that I can post since I can't take any new pictures with my camera. Be patient with me, I promise I'll get it together quickly so I can share some eye candy with you soon. In the meantime, here is a card I made using one of the new Verve Visual stamp sets being released on Friday!!!!!! The set is called Filigree Fantasy. I LOVE this new set, it's a must for everyone to have in their collection. I had so much fun making this card, I think it turned out fabulous if I do say so myself! Hope you like it!

Hugs,
Amy

p.s. I just thought I'd clarify that I did NOT take the picture I posted of Lynchburg, VA the other day! Some of you thought I did, and I wanted to be sure that you all knew that it is not one I took myself. I WISH I could take such a fabulous picture!

  8. Fabulous card, Amy! Love the turquoise centers to the filigrees. The sentiment is actually from the set releasing in June, but I love it!
