I'm here!

Well, I made it to VA! My plan arrived early last evening. There was a little bit of turbulance throughout th flight and it was a little bumpy landing. I actually was getting a little queasy from it! Very unusual. I've never gotten motion sick before (well, I lie. I think I did get motion sickness once on a catamaran in Jamaica:))

Anywhooooo, here I am. It was wonderful to see my SIL once she picked me up. She seems very stressed, but that is par for the course I think. My BIL looks great and has a great attitude. His 6 hour chemo treatment is in a few hours. I'm not sure how we'll handle it. If I'll sit with him while he's there, or if we'll drop him off and run a few errands and then go back. I'm willing to do whatever. My nephew is back living at home again so it was great to see him. He's 26. The best news of all is that he has a new puppy named Kemo. They call him 'Mo. He's a light colored Cocker Spaniel and he's ADORABLE! Although he will not stop nipping and he's driving me crazy. I will definitely get some pictures of this little guy. Andrew (my nephew) bought him (much to his mother's dismay) to help cheer things up around here while Ken endures his cancer treatments. I can't wait for you to see him!

Today's card is a shadow box! This is only the second one I've ever made. The first you can't see yet because I did it for some upcoming stamp releases! They are really easy to make though! I wanted to make one for a special graduate, and this is what I came up with. The stars come from the Verve Visual Seeing Stars stamp set, and the sentiments come from one of the newest Verve releases called Great Expectations. This is a fabulous set with sentiments you can use to encourage all the special people in your life! I really LOVE it! As far as making the shadowbox, I'm going to defer to Cammie's tutorial she did a few weeks ago. That's the one I followed and it was a great one.

Well, I'm going to run. I hear the floor creaking upstairs so the troops are up.

Hugs,
Amy

  3. Glad you arrived safely. You must be an early riser...posting before anyone else is awake. Nice card too! I like the row of stars with the lower sentiment.
