I Challenged Amy Scheffer

A few days before I left on my trip to VA, I entered into a personal challenge with friend and Verve teammate Amy Scheffer (Pickled Paper Designs). The challenge was that she was going to make a card for my Super Sketch Sunday #3, (using a total of four different designer papers, which she finds difficult), and I had to make a card using Apricot Appeal, a color I don't use at all! I laid down the gauntlet, and Amy happily accepted the challenge.

Unfortunately, I left for VA right after the challenge and was unable to post my card. Here's her card using my sketch.....didn't she do a great job???? Amy really needs to use designer paper more often, she's so good at it!!! Her card is to die for, I especially love how she used the horizontal striped paper for one of the blocks, it looks so cool!

Here is my card using Apricot Appeal. It turned out ok, it's still not a favorite color of mine, but I definitely think I could use the color again, as long as I pair it with the right color combination. I believe the designer paper I used is by Fancy Pants. I cut a few of the flowers out from the paper and placed them on the front of the card and then used some fun, simple stitching around the perimeters of each panel for some "wow". It's definitely a different card for me, but it turned out cool I guess! A big thanks to Amy for playing along with the challenge, I think we'll have to do this again sometime!

We had a FABULOUS weekend here! It was gorgeous every single day! We got lots of yardwork done, AND, I had a chance to go out to some garage sales! I didn't buy much, but did happen across the garage sale of a woman who is a Party Lite Sales rep and she was selling all her samples for $3 each! You wouldn't believe what I picked up. The biggest thing I got was a HUMUNGOUS hurricane candle holder. I also got a beautiful square platter, and a candle stand. All for $9! Great gifts.........

Today is a busy day, so I must be off. I hope everyone reading this had a great weekend too.

Hugs,

Amy
